Abstract

Industrial salt is people's salt that has been carried out in various stages, namely the pretreatment process for raw materials, product processing and packaging stages. In the industrial salt washing process, it is carried out using brine water because it is cheap, simple and economical. So far, in the industrial salt production process, there is still a large amount of exhaust gas from the cyclone. Also, the output is still being filtered using a wet scrubber which results in the production of liquid waste and the use of a lot of process water. So, it is necessary to innovate to replace the wet scrubber tool into an electrostatic precipitator to increase the quantity of exhaust gas products and be more environmentally friendly. Comparative data before and after optimization found that the initial wasted salt product was as much as 20% to only 2%. So that the result of salt products increased by 169.34 kg/hour and if calculated as a product, the profit was Rp. 71,123,022/day. From the economic analysis that has been carried out, it can be concluded that a salt factory with the use of an electrostatic precipitator as a recovery of flue gas products is feasible because it has a discount factor value of 34% with IRR and NPV calculations at a bank interest rate of 12% and an inflation rate of 10% with an estimated return on capital. occurred for 3.27 years, and the break-even point of product sales was 24.32% or equivalent to 15,322,861 units of product sold per year so that the salt plant planning project using an electrostatic precipitator as the recovery of exhaust gas products could be carried out
