Abstract

Transportasi udara adalah akomodasi yang efektif terhadap tenaga serta waktu, namun dalam pengoperasiannya, keterlambatan masih terjadi. Hal ini membuat penumpang pesawat mengalami kelelahkan secara fisik dan psikis sehingga membutuhkan tempat istirahat. Tidur merupakan kebutuhan manusia dalam mengembalikan energinya. Tidur manusia dipengaruhi oleh kualitas dan kuantitas yang dipengaruhi oleh kondisi eksternal. Kesulitan tidur tentunya juga menyerang business traveler yang diharuskan untuk berpindah tempat dengan cepat. Pada Tugas Akhir ini, pendekatan Layover-Break akan menjadi jawaban atas permasalahan tersebut. Objek arsitektur berupa hotel transit akan mewadahi kebutuhan istirahat singkat business traveler, dengan menerapkan metode Sleep in Transit dan tools kuesioner dan DepthmapX dalam mentransformasi konsep formal rancangan terhadap kondisi di tapak. Lahan perancangan berada di Bandar Udara Juanda, Surabaya, Jawa Timur. Kondisi ini mendorong adanya arsitektur yang dapat mewadahi istirahat seseorang dalam waktu yang singkat namun dapat memberikan kualitas tidur yang prima dengan memodifikasi hal arsitektural yang dapat menstimulasi tidur nyenyak seseorang. Sehingga rancangan dapat menjadi solusi penerapan kebutuhan istirahat seseorang, mewadahi aktivitas transit yang sementara dengan penekanan keefektivan dan pemenuhan tidur sebagai pengalaman

Air transportation is an effective accommodation in energy and time, but in its operation, delays still occur. This makes airplane passengers physically and psychologically exhausted, so they need a place to rest. Sleep is a human need to restore energy. Human sleep is influenced by the quality and quantity which is influenced by external conditions. Difficulty sleeping, of course, also attacks business travelers who are required to move places quickly. In this final project, the Layover-Break approach will be the answer for this problem. The architectural object in the form of a transit hotel will accommodate the need for a short break for business travelers, by applying the Sleep in Transit method and questionnaire tools and DepthmapX in transforming the formal concept of design to conditions on the site. The design area is at Juanda Airport, Surabaya, East Java. This condition encourages the existence of an architecture that can accommodate a person's rest in a short time but can provide excellent sleep quality by modifying architectural things that can stimulate a person's restful sleep. So the design is expected to be a solution to the application of people's needs of rest, to accommodate temporary transit activities with an emphasis on the effectiveness and fulfillment of sleep as an experience
