Abstract

Teknologi pengelasan merupakan hal yang sangat penting dalam dunia industri maritim, baik pada bidang perkapalan, struktur bangunan laut (offshore), industri migas, maupun perpipaan. Material Baja SS 400 banyak digunakan untuk perbaikan kilang minyak terutama pada PPSDM Migas Cepu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui metode pengelasan yang paling cocok untuk material baja SS 400 berdasarkan sifat mekanik yang diperoleh. Sifat mekanik yang dituju adalah hasil uji kekerasan, uji tarik, dan uji bending. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan hasil pengujian kekerasan terbaik pada pengelasan FCAW yang memiliiki nilai rata-rata kekerasan sebesar 191 HV pada weld metal. Kemudian hasil pengujian terbaik juga dimiliki oleh pengelasan FCAW dengan nilai tegangan ultimate sebesar 475,25 MPa dan tegangan yield sebesar 372,40 MPa. Pada pengujian tarik juga diperoleh nilai elongasi pada setiap material, dimana hasil terbaik terdapat pada metode pengelasan SMAW dengan nilai elongasi 37,67%. Pada hasil pengujian tekuk terdapat 2 spesimen yang tidak memenuhi kriteria yaitu pada face bend GMAW yang mengalami patah (fracture) dan pada root bend FCAW yang terdapat open defect sebesar 4 mm pada daerah weld metal. Pengambilan keputusan pada penelitian ini menggunakan Metode Perbandingan Eksponensial (MPE) yang mendapatkan hasil pengelasan terbaik untuk baja SS 400 yaitu metode pengelasan SMAW dengan selisih sedikit dibandingkan metode pengelasan GMAW dan FCAW.

Welding technology is very important in the maritime industry, both in the field of shipping, marine structures (offshore), oil and gas industry, and piping. SS 400 steel material is widely used for oil refinery repairs, especially at the Cepu Oil and Gas PPSDM. This study aims to determine the most suitable welding method for SS 400 steel material based on the mechanical properties obtained. The intended mechanical properties are the results of the hardness test, tensile test, and bending test. In this study, the best hardness test results were obtained on FCAW welding which had an average hardness value of 191 HV on weld metal. Then the best test results are also owned by FCAW welding with an ultimate stress value of 475.25 MPa and a yield stress of 372.40 MPa. In the tensile test, the elongation value of each material was also obtained, where the best results were found in the SMAW welding method with an elongation value of 37.67%. In the bending test results, there were 2 specimens that did not meet the criteria, namely the GMAW face bend which had a fracture and the FCAW root bend which had an open defect of 4 mm in the weld metal area. The decision making in this study used the Exponential Comparison Method (MPE) which obtained the best welding results for SS 400 steel, namely the SMAW welding method with a slight difference compared to the GMAW and FCAW welding methods.
