Abstract

PT ADF memiliki boiler berbahan bakar gas alam dengan kapasitas 2 ton per jam untuk memenuhi kebutuhan steam proses produksi. Pada penelitian ini, pengamatan difokuskan pada kehilangan energi saat cycle blowdown boiler. Metode yang digunakan dengan cause and effect diagram dan FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), yaitu suatu pendekatan yang banyak digunakan bagi industri dalam menganalisis keandalan suatu sistem sehingga sistem tersebut terlindungi dari kerusakan yang mengganggu stabilitas sistem operasional industri. Melalui hasil pengumpulan data dan analisis faktor risiko yang meningkatkan kehilangan energi pada boiler, didapatkan tujuh faktor utama masalah yang ditimbulkan pada boiler. Analisis berdasarkan risiko kritis yang ada melalui penyusunan FMEA worksheet di peroleh enam rekomendasi teknis untuk mengurangi penyebab terjadinya masalah pada boiler di PT ADF. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu dengan menerapkan rekomendasi teknis meningkatkan efisiensi kinerja boiler. Pemanfaatan kembali blowdown boiler untuk pemanasan di feed water tank dan pengembalian air kondensat boiler ke feed water tank sebagai make up water menjadikan salah satu peningkatan efisiensi kinerja boiler. Selain itu juga memberikan potensi penghematan energi seperti penggunaan gas alam, konsumsi air dan biaya pengelolaan limbah.

PT ADF has a natural gas boiler with a capacity of 2 tons/hour to produce steam. The observations focused on energy loss during the boiler blowdown cycle. Cause and effect analysis, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect analysis) used to evaluating a process to identify where and how it might fail and to assess the relative impact of different failures. Seven factors’ problems in the boiler are identified from data collection and analysis of risk factors. The problems effect are increase energy loss in the
boiler. PT ADF have six technical recommendations from critical analysis to increase efficiency and effectiveness of operational boiler. The result of this study is that by implementing six technical recommendations. The improvements for increase boiler performance such as reuse of boiler blowdown for heating in the feed water tank and returning boiler condensate water to the feed water tank as make up water. In addition, potential savings can also occur in other parameters such as the use of natural gas, water
consumption and waste management costs.
