Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 berdampak signifikan terhadap sektor industri berskala kecil, salah satunya IKM Logam. IKM Logam memiliki peranan penting dalam industri manufaktur di Indonesia. IKM Logam Ngingas Sidoarjo sebagai salah satu sentral IKM Logam terbesar di Indonesia yang memproduksi komponen logam untuk didistribusikan kepada perusahaan manufaktur besar di Indonesia turut terdampak pandemi Covid-19. Kondisi tersebut membuat IKM Logam Ngingas Sidoarjo mengalami penurunan pendapatan secara drastis. Beberapa kendala lain juga dihadapi para pengusaha logam di Ngingas, diantaranya adalah kesulitan dalam menerapkan informasi eksternal, sangat terbuka kepada karyawan mengenai informasi strategis usaha, dan kepemimpinan yang dilakukan kurang optimal. Menuju era endemi dan pemulihan ekonomi di Indonesia, diharapkan IKM Logam Ngingas Sidoarjo mampu bangkit dan memiliki daya saing. Dalam rangka menunjuang peningkatan kinerja bisnis pada IKM Logam Ngingas Sidoarjo, penelitian ini meneliti pengaruh antara leadership terhadap absorptive capacity dan business performance. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif. Responden yang digunakan berjumlah 127 pengusaha IKM Logam Ngingas Sidoarjo. Responden diambil menggunakan sampel jenuh dengan sejumlah kriteria yang telah dirumuskan. Penggalian data dilakukan dengan metode survei. Serta, pengolahan data menggunakan metode PLS-SEM dan Uji Sobel untuk mengetahui peran mediasi variabel absorptive capacity. Perangkat lunak yang digunakan adalah SmartPLS 3.0. Hasil penelitian ini memaparkan bahwa leadership memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap absorptive capacity dan business performance. Selain itu, dapat dibuktikan bahwa absorptive capacity memberikan pengaruh mediasi terhadap hubungan antara leadership terhadap business performance secara parsial pada IKM Logam Ngingas Sidoarjo. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis dapat disimpulkan seluruh hipotesis penelitian ini diterima. Beberapa langkah manajerial yang dihasilkan berdasarkan leadership, absorptive capacity dan business performance ialah peningkatan profesionalitas dalam kepemimpinan, pelatihan untuk adaptasi kemampuan dan teknologi baru, dan penerapan levelisasi informasi terhadap karyawan.

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a major impact on the small industrial sector, one of which is Metal SMEs. Metal SMEs have an essential role in the manufacturing industry in Indonesia. Ngingas Sidoarjo Metals Industry, one of the largest Metal SMEs centers in Indonesia that produce metal components for distribution to large manufacturing companies in Indonesia, has also been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Due to this situation, Ngingas Sidoarjo Metals Industry suffered a significant loss of income. Apart from that, metal entrepreneurs in Ngingas also face several obstacles, namely difficulties in applying external information, being very open to employees regarding strategic business information, and leadership that is not optimal. Towards the endemic era and the recovery of the economic climate in Indonesia, it is hoped that the Ngingas Sidoarjo Metals Industry will be able to rise using competitiveness. In order to support business performance improvement at the Ngingas Sidoarjo Metals Industry this study examines the influence of leadership absorptive capacity and business performance. This research is descriptive quantitative research. Respondents used amounted to 127 entrepreneurs in Ngingas Sidoarjo Metals Industry. Respondents were recruited using saturated samples on a pre-determined basis. Data were collected according to the survey method. Data processing also uses the PLS-SEM method and the Sobel test to determine the role of absorption capacity as a mediating variable. The software used is SmartPLS 3.0. The results of this research are leadership has a positive and significant effect on absorptive capacity and business performance. In addition, it can be proven that absorptive capacity mediates the relationship between leadership to business performance partially in Ngingas Sidoarjo Metals Industry. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that all of the research hypotheses are accepted. In addition, the managerial implications are based on leadership, absorptive capacity, and business performance namely increasing professionalism in leadership, training for adapting new capabilities and technology, and applying information levelization to employees.
