Abstract

PT. INKA (Persero) manufaktur kereta api Indenesia mengalami siklus krisis keuangan selama kurun waktu 2011 – 2020, karena menurunya pendapatan dari penjualan produk kereta api dan meningkatnya biaya operasi perusahaan. Situasi ini mendorong PT. INKA (Persero) untuk mengembangkan bisnis baru selain dari penjualan produk kereta api. Penelitian ini fokus pada pola pengembangan Strategic Business Unit (SBU) mesin penggerak kereta api dengan inovasi bisnis berbasis Product Service System (PSS) yang diharapkan mampu memberikan pendapatan baru bagi PT. INKA (Persero), menggunakan metode BMC-SWOT untuk menganalisa faktor internal dan external perusahaan serta lima kekuatan Porter (Porter Five’s Forces) untuk menganalisa faktor persaingan bisnis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peluang bisnis mesin penggerak kereta api masih terbuka lebar meskipun tingkat persaingan global cukup ketat. Untuk mengantisipasi hal tersebut, peneliti merekomendaikan agar SBU menjalankan alternatif pola bisnis penjualan produk dengan jasa pelayanan selama 10 tahun karena memliki tingkat pengembalian (IRR) sebesar 27% serta payback period tahun ke- 4

2011 – 2020, because of decreasing revenue from railway product sales and increasing internal operating expenses. This situation forced PT. INKA (Persero) to develop new business not only depend on railway product sales. This research will focus on the development of a railway propulsion system Strategic Business Unit (SBU) based on a Product Service System (PSS) that will give new revenue for PT. INKA (Persero), with the BMC-SWOT method to analyze company internal & external factors, and also use Porter Five’s Forces to analyze the business competition factors. The result of this research shows a great business opportunity for the railway propulsion product, although have tight global competition. To anticipate that things, a researcher recommend that SBU should apply a business innovation alternative to sell the railway propulsion product with ten years of service. Because of that alternative will give IRR to SBU 27% and a payback period 4th year
