Abstract

The use of portfolio as documentation of students learning outcomes and works is considered less effective. This ineffectiveness is caused by the emergence of problems regarding the limitations of content and the types of supporting media that it could contain. Moreover, there is also a concern about damaged and losses of the portfolio shelved for long period of time. In order to resort this sort of problems, there is a need of a new kind of brief portfolio. Which has to be easy-to-store, yet still could contain a comprehensive contents of students development aspect. To embody this idea, the design thinking process has to be done to formulate a more valuable solution. This research was initiated by carrying out the design thinking phase, namely the empathy process by conducting interviews and exploring problems using the Javelin Experiment Board, User Persona, and Empathy Map. Next step is definification of problems using User Journey Map, solutions arrangement based on value proportion, until it produce a MVP tested with A/B test. The generated result is the problems of user target related activities about gather, search and preserve the portfolios. Afterwards, alternative solutions are made based on each of the problems. So that it generates solutions with access and content categories. Based on unique and trusted value proportion, a solution is found which is a website-based digital students MVP portfolio with twice as fast access and 18% more savings. The Google Sites platform was used to develop this digital portfolio MVP. A MVP test result showed there are feedbacks from two group and it contains a lot of development potentions regarding to impovement and new features on digital student portfolio.
