Abstract

Pada penelitian ini dilakukan evaluasi relay arus lebih fasa dan relay gangguan tanah untuk mendapatkan koordinasi yang tepat dan sesuai dengan IEEE 242-2001. Evaluasi relay juga dilakukan untuk menunjang program retrofit atau penggantian relay yang telah obsolete. Evaluasi sistem koordinasi proteksi di PT. PERTAMINA Refinery Unit III Plaju ini dimodelkan dan disimulasikan dengan menggunakan software ETAP 12.6.0. Terdapat beberapa kesalahan setting pada kondisi eksisting, seperti time grading yang tidak sesuai dengan IEEE 242-2001 yaitu 0,2 detik – 0,4 detik dan terdapat overlapping kurva relay sehingga terjadi miskoordinasi. Oleh karena itu, resetting perlu dilakukan. Setelah itu, insiden energi arc flash baik pada kondisi eksisting maupun kondisi resetting dievaluasi dengan metode perhitungan IEEE 1584-2002 dan ditentukan kategori PPE berdasarkan NFPA 70E-2015. Setelah dilakukan analisis, beberapa bus mengalami peningkatan nilai insiden energi arc flash. Namun terdapat pula bus yang mengalami penurunan insiden energi arc flash, contohnya pada Bus SWGR A2 dan SWGR A3 dari 72,62 cal/cm2 menjadi 3,21 cal/cm2.

In this study, an evaluation of phase overcurrent relays and ground fault relays was carried out to obtain proper coordination and comply with IEEE 242-2001. Relay evaluation is also carried out to support the retrofit program or obsolete relay replacement. This evaluation of protection coordination system in PT. PERTAMINA Refinery Unit III Plaju is modeled and simulated using ETAP 12.6.0 software. There are several setting errors in the existing conditions, such as time grading that is not appropriate with IEEE 242-2001, which is 0,2 seconds – 0,4 seconds and there is overlapping relay curve so that miscoordination occurred. Therefore, resetting needs to be done. After that, the arc flash energy incident in both existing and resetting conditions was evaluated by the IEEE 1584-2002 calculation method and determined the PPE category based on NFPA 70E-2015. However, there are also buses that experienced decreasing arc flash energy incident, for example SWGR A2 and SWGR A3 from 72,62 cal/cm2 to 3,21 cal/cm2.
