Abstract

Gunung lumpur merupakan salah satu fenomena geologi yang tidak jarang ditemukan di Indonesia, terutama di Jawa Timur. Berbagai gunung lumpur yang ada contohnya gunung lumpur Bujhel Tasek di Madura, Gunung Anyar di Surabaya, dan Karang Anyar di Sidoarjo. Beberapa definisi telah menjelaskan mengenai pembentukan gunung lumpur, salah satunya Mazzini (2007) mengatakan bahwa formasinya mayoritas disebabkan oleh tekanan berlebih (overpressure) dari sedimen yang kaya akan clay dan material organik. Proses geologi yang terjadi di area gunung lumpur dapat dijelaskan melalui semburan lumpurnya menggunakan metode kemagnetan dan analisis logam tanah jarang (LTJ). Beberapa penelitian terdahulu telah menggunakan kedua parameter tersebut untuk menganalisis asal lingkungan daerah penelitian masing-masing. Objek kajian penelitian kali ini adalah sebuah gunung lumpur yang berada di Jawa Timur yang dinamai ‘X’. Penelitian ini akan mencoba mengkarakterisasikan endapan permukaan lumpur gunung lumpur X berdasarkan suseptibilitas magnetik, VSM, uji XRF, XRD, SEM, serta ICP-OES. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakteristik pada beberapa sampel P berupa nilai suseptibilitas, fase mineral. Kadar LTJ dan oksida, serta domain magnetik. Mud volcano is a geological phenomenon that is not uncommon in Indonesia, especially in East Java. Various mud volcanoes have been found, for example the Bujhel Tasek in Madura, Gunung Anyar in Surabaya, and Karang Anyar in Sidoarjo. Several definitions have explained the formation of mud volcanoes, one of which is Mazzini (2007) says that the majority of the formations are caused by overpressure from sediments which are rich in clay and organic material.
The geological processes that occur in the mud volcano area can be explained through the mudflow using the method of magnetism and analysis of rare earth elements (REE). Several previous studies have used these two parameters to analyze the environmental origin of each research area. The object of this research study is a mud volcano in East Java which is named 'X'. This research will try to characterize mud volcano X surface mud deposits based on magnetic susceptibility, VSM, XRF, XRD, SEM, and ICP-OES tests. The results showed that the characteristics of some of the P samples were susceptibility values, mineral phases. REE and oxide levels, as well as magnetic domains.
