Abstract
Pengaplikasian baja corten A pada cerobong pembuangan emisi pada kapal Barge Mounted Power Plant (BMPP) membutuhkan sifat-sifat tertentu. Pengaplikasian cerobong pembuangan emisi ini bekerja pada temperatur maksimal 374℃. Material baja corten A memiliki sifat ketahanan panas yang baik karena memiliki unsur Cu. Proses pengelasan dan pemilihan elektroda sangat berpengaruh pada hasil las yang diinginkan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana pengaruh variasi elektroda dan arus terhadap hasil pengelasan baja corten A terhadap struktur mikro, ketahanan korosi, dan sifat mekanik. Adapun variasi logam pengisi yang digunakan adalah ER70S – G dan ER80S – G. Pengelasan yang digunakan adalah metode Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW). Skema eksperimen didasari dengan Welding Procedur Spesification (WPS) yang telah ada. Setelah eksperimen pengelasan, dilanjutkan dengan pengujian metalografi, pengujian korosi pada temperature 374℃ dengan gas CO2, pengujian tarik, dan pengujian kekerasan. Pada hasil penelitian variasi logam pengisi dan arus dalam pengelasan terdapat peningkatan persentase fasa pearlite pada daerah Weld Metal dan HAZ. Peningkatan tertinggi terdapat pada pengelasan menggunakan logam pengisi ER80S-G dan arus 140A pada daerah Weld Metal 40,28% dan Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) 30,01%. Nilai persetase fasa pearlite dalam pengalasan terdapat pada spesimen dengan logam pengisi ER70S-G dan arus 112A Weld Metal sebesar 33,65% dan Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) 27,93%. Hasil penelitian korosi temperatur tinggi menunjukan bahwa laju korosi menglami penurunan. Laju korosi terendah terdapat pada spesimen dengan pengalasan menggunakan logam pengisi ER80S-G dan arus 140A. Pada hasil pengujian kekuatan tarik terdapat peningkatan Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS) dalam penggunaan logam pengisi ER80S-G dan peningkatan arus mulai dari 112A, 125A, sampai 140A. Untuk pengujian kekerasan pada daerah weld metal dan Heat Affected Zone (HAZ), mengalami peningkatan dalam penggunaan logam pengisi ER80S-G dan arus pengelasan. Untuk hasil tertinggi niilai Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS) dan nilai kekerasan terdapat pada spesimen D-3 yaitu pengelasan menggunakan logam pengisi ER80S-G dan arus 140A.

The application of corten A steel in exhaust chimneys on Barge Mounted Power Plant (BMPP) ships requires certain properties. The application of this emission exhaust chimney work’s at a maximum temperature of 374℃. Corten A steel material has good heat resistance properties because it has an element of Cu. The welding process and electrode selection greatly affect the desired weld results. This research was conducted with the aim of analyzing how the influence of the electrode and variation current on the results of corten A steel welding on the microstructure, corrosion resistance, and mechanical properties. The variations of the filler rod used are ER70 – G and ER80S – G. The welding method used is the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) method. Existing WPS based experimental scheme. After the welding experiment, continued with metallographic testing, corrosion testing at 374℃ with CO2 gass, tensile test, and hardness test. In the results of the study of variations in filler metal and welding currents, there was an increase in the percentage of the pearlite phase in the Weld Metal and HAZ areas. The highest increase was found in welding using ER80S-G filler metal and 140A current in the Weld Metal area of 40.28% and the Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) of 30.01%. The percentage value of the pearlite phase in the reasoning is found in specimens with filler metal ER70S-G and current 112A Weld Metal of 33.65% and Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) of 27.93%. The results of high temperature corrosion research show that the corrosion rate has decreased. The lowest corrosion rate was found in specimens with ER80S-G filler metal and a current of 140A. In the results of the tensile strength test there is an increase in Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS) in the use of ER80S-G filler metal and an increase in current ranging from 112A, 125A, to 140A. For hardness testing in the weld metal and Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) areas, there was an increase in the use of ER80S-G filler metal and welding current. For the highest results, Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS) and hardness values were found in specimen D-3, namely welding using ER80S-G filler metal and a current of 140A.
