Abstract
Pemilihan tipe simpang susun dilakukan berdasarkan Perencanaan Persimpangan Jalan Tak Sebidang Direktorat Jenderal Bina Marga, 2005.

The construction of infrastructures has been a main concern of the government’s as of late with the intention of even developments throughout regions, one of which is toll roads. Toll roads and main roads are generally connected through interchanges. By definition, an interchange is a combination of main roads built on different levels. One of the toll roads that are being built with interchanges is Yogyakarta – Bawen Highway. Yogyakarta – Bawen Highway, with the length of 75.82 km, is planned to pass Yogyakarta, Sleman, Magelang, Temanggung, and Semarang, which are famous for their tourism destinations. Yogyakarta – Bawen Highway is arranged to have interchanges in Banyurejo, Borobudur, Magelang, Temanggung, and Ambarawa, but these interchanges have yet to have detailed geometric design. Construction of interchange with correct choice of interchange type will provide comfort and safety for drivers. Thus, an ideal geometric design for interchange is needed as well as interchange type selection, so the interchanges may be sustainable for years to come and not cause traffic jam. The geometric design of interchanges of Yogyakarta – Bawen Highway consists of the selection of locations for interchanges, selection of types of interchanges, design of horizontal alignments, design of vertical alignments, and design of street signs and marks. Selection of interchange type is based on Design of Multi-level Intersection by Bina Marga Regulation 2005. Geometric design of interchange is based on the Guidelines for Geometric Design of Roads by Bina Marga Regulation 2021 and Highway Geometric for Toll Roads by Bina Marga Regulation 2009. Design of street signs and marks is based on Ministerial Regulation No 13 of 2014 and No 24 of 2014. The result of this interchange planning is four trumpet interchanges and one direct-triangle interchange. Each interchange has 4 ramps, therefore there are a total of 20 ramps designed in this Final Project. Interchanges in Banyurejo, Borobudur, Magelang, and Ambarawa are all trumpet interchanges with transition types of Spiral-Circle-Spiral and Spiral-Spiral, with radius within range of 53.5 m to 59.5 m and length of transition spirals within range of 43,5 m to 55,9 m. Interchange in Temanggung is a direct-triangle interchange with transition type of Spiral-Circle-Spiral, with a radius of 233.5 m and length of transition spiral of 59.5 m.
