Abstract

Many shipyards in Indonesia are still using the conventional system in the process of procuring product and services, namely by contacting the supplier directly. The purpose of this Final Project is to develop an application to simplify the process of procuring product and services in shipyards. The benefit of this application is that the procurement process is carried out electronically in a transparent, safe, easy and simple manner. The application also provides a platform that provides equal opportunities for UMKM supporting the shipbuilding industry to offer their products. First, the existing procurement system that implemented by the shipyard is studied to find out the deficiencies and what shipyard needs in terms of procurement. Second, mock-ups and application prototypes are designed with specific features that comply to the needs of shipyards. Third, the prototype application was tested on two shipyard representatives and two supporting UMKM representatives. The questionnaire consists of 6 questions regarding several aspect namely the ease of use of the application, the aesthetics of the application interface, and the ability of the system to overcome existing deficiencies with a response weighting from 1 (very bad) to 5 (very good). Completion of questionnaires from shipyard representatives received a score of 29 out of a maximum of 30. Completion of questionnaires from representatives of supporting UMKM received a score of 24.5 out of a maximum of 30.
