Abstract

The South Sulawesi Provincial Government has plans to build a dry port that is closer to the industry to reduce the cost of shipping goods borne by exporters to the Makassar New Port. The dry port development plan has two different locations, namely in Sidrap Regency and Janeponto Regency. This research will identify the existing export-import conditions in South Sulawesi. After analyzing the projections of export and import commodities using the multiple linear regression method and a comparative analysis of land and sea transportation costs, the potential for dry port development in South Sulawesi will be obtained. After obtaining the development potential of each dry port, a dry port layout design plan will be carried out. Based on the analysis of existing conditions, the number of industries from 12 regencies, namely Bulukumba, Takalar, Gowa, Maros, Pangkep, Bone, Wajo, Pinrang, East Luwu, Makassar, Pare-Pare, and Palopo. Based on a comparative analysis of transportation costs, the construction of Sidrap Dry Port can be pursued by looking at the potential for export development, namely Wajo Regency has a cheaper cost of IDR 0.42 Million/Teus, Pinrang Regency is cheaper IDR 0.09 Million/Teus, East Luwu Regency is cheaper IDR 0.4 Million/Teus, the City of Parepare is cheaper by IDR 0.28 Million/Teus, and the City of Palopo is cheaper by IDR 0.31 Million/Teus. After seeing the results of a cost comparison analysis, calculations were carried out, layout planning was carried out at the Sidrap Dry port with a projected load in 2031.
