Abstract

Lembaga pendidikan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) saat ini pada umumnya belum mampu memenuhi kebutuhan tenaga kerja sesuai dengan harapan hal ini disebabkan karena rendahnya kompetensi dari siswa dimana minimnya kompetensi ini disebabkan karena mutu pendidikan yang diselenggarakan oleh lembaga pendidikan yang kurang mengikuti perkembangan dan rendahnya kualitas input calon siswa yang pada umumnya berasal dari keluarga ekonomi menengah ke bawah. Pemerintah melakukan antisipasi dengan berupaya untuk meningkatkan mutu dan kualitas pendidikan SMK melalui kebijakan berupa penerapan kurikulum yang berbasis kompetensi yang terus dilakukan penyempurnaan menyesuaikan dengan perkembangan dunia pendidikan dan kebutuhan industri melalui kurikulum Merdeka. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh guru dan siswa melalui proses design thinking sehingga didapatkan inovasi-inovasi untuk meningkatkan kompetensi siswa dengan mempertimbangkan permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh lembaga pendidikan. Dari analisis yang telah dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi siswa, proses pembelajaran perlu dilakukan pergeseran untuk lebih berorientasi kepada pembelajaran individu atau personalized learning. Pembelajaran individu memberikan ruang bagi siswa untuk menentukan sendiri program pengembangan dan target pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan harapan masing-masing siswa, selain itu pembelajaran dengan keterlibatan langsung dalam unit bisnis sekolah dapat meningkatkan minat dan antusiasme siswa dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran.

Vocational High School (SMK) educational institutions are generally unable to meet the workforce's needs by expectations because of low student competence and also low academic quality held by educational institutions that need to keep abreast of technological development. Students generally come from middle to lower-economic families categorized as low input quality also contributed to this situation. The government is making an effort to improve the quality of vocational education through policies in the form of implementing a competency-based curriculum which continues to be refined to adapt to developments in the world of education and industrial needs through the Merdeka curriculum implementation. The purpose of this study is to identify the problems faced by teachers and students through a design thinking process so that innovations are obtained to increase student competence by considering the issues faced by educational institutions. Based on the analysis that has been carried out on how to improve student competence, the learning process needs to be shifted to be more oriented toward individual learning or personalized learning. Personalized learning provides space for students to determine their development programs and learning objectives following the expectations of each student. In addition, learning with direct involvement in school business units can increase student interest and enthusiasm for participating in the learning process.
