Abstract

Mbloc Space adalah sebuah ruang publik kreatif di kawasan Blok M dimana arsitek diminta oleh Peruri menghidupkan kembali salah satu bangunannya yang telah lama terbengkalai. Tujuan awal pendirian Mbloc Space adalah melestarikan dan menjaga bangunan lama yaitu Perumahan Peruri dengan mengahadirkannya dalam fungsi baru yaitu sebagai ruang publik kreatif dengan memasukkan spirit dari kawasan Blok M pada masa lampau sebagai pusat kegiatan anak muda. Blok M sendiri menjadi salah satu ikon perkembangan kultur budaya Kota Jakarta yang diingat dan memiliki memori kolektif yang kuat bagi warga kota. Ide gagasan yang dinyatakan oleh perancang Mbloc Space yakni menginginkan ruang ini menjadi ruang publik kreatif yang dapat membangkitkan pengunjungnya bernostalgia dengan membangkitkan kejayaan masa lampau Blok M. Tujuan penelitian ini ingin mengetahui bagaimana penilaian warga sebagai pengunjung tehadap kehadiran ruang publik kreatif yang berdiri pada bangunan dan/atau kawasan bersejarah bagi kotanya selaras dengan tujuan perancang yang menginginkan Mbloc Space sebagai tempat warga Kota Jakarta bernostalgia. Penelitian menggunakan metode mix dan studi kasus yaitu metode penggunaan kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan data yang diperoleh berdasarkan observasi, kuesioner, dan wawancara pada pengunjung dan arsitek pada studi kasus Mbloc Space. Kuesioner dan wawancara pengunjung menggunakan strategi purposive sampling dengan mempertimbangkan dari segi usia dan berdomisili di Kota Jakarta. Teknik analisa kuantitatif menggunakan uji crosstab chi-square. Dilanjutkan dengan analisa kualitatif dari hasil wawancara pada beberapa responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bagi pengunjung usia muda, pemanfaatan kembali bangunan lama rupanya berdampak bagi pengunjung dalam hal memberi wawasan baru. Memori aktivitas yang dapat dikenali pengunjung berelasi dengan Blok M didapatkan oleh memori pihak lain yang lebih tua yang pernah merasakan sendiri kejayaan Blok M. Dapat disimpulkan penilaian pengunjung terhadap memori kolektif yang ada pada Mbloc Space dipengaruhi oleh jumlah kunjungan dan seberapa lama mereka telah tinggal di Kota Jakarta.

Mbloc Space is a creative public space in the Blok M area where architects were asked by Peruri to revive one of its buildings which had been neglected for a long time. The initial goal of establishing Mbloc Space was to preserve and maintain the old building, namely Peruri Housing by presenting it in a new function, namely as a creative
public space by incorporating the spirit of the Blok M area in the past as a center for youth activities. Blok M itself is one of the icons of the development of the culture of
the City of Jakarta which is remembered and has a strong collective memory for city residents. The ideas stated by the designer of Mbloc Space are wanting this space to
become a creative public space that can awaken its visitors to nostalgia by evoking the past glories of Blok M. The purpose of this research is to find out how residents evaluate as visitors the presence of creative public spaces that stand in buildings and/or or a historic area for the city in line with the designer's goal of wanting Mbloc Space as a place for Jakarta residents to reminisce. The research uses mix methods and case studies, namely the use of quantitative and qualitative methods with data obtained based on observations, questionnaires, and interviews with visitors and architects in the Mbloc Space case study. Questionnaires and visitor interviews used a purposive sampling strategy by considering their age and domicile in the city of Jakarta. Quantitative analysis technique using the chi-square crosstab test. Followed by a qualitative analysis of the results of interviews with several respondents. The results of the study show that for young visitors, the reuse of old buildings seems to have an impact on visitors in terms of providing new insights. The memory of activities that visitors can recognize as related to Blok M is obtained by the memory of other older parties who have experienced the glory of Blok M. It can be concluded that visitors' assessment of the collective memory in Mbloc Space is influenced by the number of visits and how long they have lived in the city of Jakarta.
