Abstract

Remaja, merupakan masa transisi bagi individu. Pada masa ini, individu dihadapkan dengan perubahan dari masa anak-anak menuju dewasa secara fisiologis dan psikologis. Kesempatan untuk membangun konsep ‘home’ bagi remaja terbentuk secara berbeda bagi remaja yang tinggal di lingkungan hunian militer. Pada lingkungan hunian ini terdapat aturan yang mampu membatasi remaja untuk bertumbuh dan mengeksplorasi diri. Aturan yang ada untuk mengatur kedisiplinan dan keteraturan memberikan dampak secara fisiologis dan psikologis bagi remaja. Pada penelitian kualitatif ini, peneliti berusaha menemukan konsep ‘home’ bagi remaja yang tinggal di lingkungan hunian militer secara interpretatif dengan melakukan indepth interview. Konsep ‘home’ diintrepretasikan dari perspektif remaja secara psikologis dengan menilai memory, desire, ownership, subsquent behavior or habit dan privacy di lingkungan militer. Pada lingkungan hunian secara fisiologis intrepretasi dilakukan dengan tinjauan structure, service, architecture style, tata letak jalan keluar (way finding), spatiality (size, room occupancy, features), teritorial atau atribut perlindungan dari gangguan luar (proksemiks ruang). Data yang didapat dalam penelitian diolah dengan bantuan aplikasi pengolah kata untuk menemukan tema-tema dan menemukan kecenderungan pendapat dari remaja dalam membentuk lingkungan hunian dan hunian berkonsep ‘home’ di kompleks militer. Hasilnya, remaja membentuk konsep ‘home’ pada lingkungan hunian militer dengan membangun jaringan yang sesuai bagi mereka. Remaja mampu beradaptasi (coping adability) dengan melakukan penyesuaian diri dengan kondisi yang ada (adaptation), berkompromi dengan kondisi (compensation), berusaha menerima perubahan-perubahan fisiologis yang ada pada ruang yang mereka miliki meski kecil (adustment). Hal-hal ini membentuk konsep ‘home’ dengan dukungan eksistensi model lingkungan, eksistensi keluarga, eksistensi teman sebaya, gender dan juga identitas yang terbangun pada remaja.

Adolescence is a transitional period for individuals. At this time, individuals are dealing with changes from childhood to maturity physiologically and psychologically. Opportunities to build a 'home' concept for adolescent are shaped differently for adolescent living in military neighborhoods. In this sphere environment there are rules that can limit adolescents from growing and exploring themselves. Existing rules to regulate discipline and order have a physiological and psychological impact on adolescents. In this qualitative study, researchers attempted to interpret the concept of 'home' for adolescents living in military sphere by conducting in-depth interviews. The concept of 'home' is interpreted from the perspective of adolescents psychologically by assessing memories, desires, possessions, subsequent behavior or habits and privacy in military settings. In the renovation environment, the interpretation of the arrangement is carried out by looking at the structure, service, architectural style, way finding, spatial (size, room occupancy, features), territorial or protection attributes from outside disturbances (proxemic space). The data obtained in the study were processed with the help of a word processing application to find themes and find trends in the opinions of adolescents in forming residential and sphere with the concept of 'home' in military complexes. As a result, adolescent form the concept of 'home' in military neighborhoods by building networks that are appropriate for them. Adolescents are able to adapt (coping adability) by making adjustments to existing conditions (adaptation), compromising with conditions (compensation), trying to accept physiological changes that exist in the space they have even if it is small (adjustment). These things form the concept of 'home' with the support of the existence of environmental models, the existence of the family, the existence of peers, gender and also the identity that is built in adolescents.
