Abstract

The popularity of recreational activities in the mountains in Indonesia is increasing, especially among young peoples. They dare to risk their lives to climb the mountain, the burden given by the back when carrying a mountain bag can cause low back pain. The purpose of this research is to design an ultralight bag with a frame for young people that can add comfort to minimalize the risk of LBP. The method used in this research uses product comparison studies, interviews with prospective users, persona analysis, user experience mapping, needs analysis, ideation, alternative sketches, and testing design ideas to users. Through the results of the analysis, we founded that the alternative design with the concept of a bag with a lightweight frame uses a generative design method that is practical, comfortable, durable, and safe which can reduce the risk of LBP.
