Abstract

There are 613 fixed offshore platforms in Indonesia since 1971 until now. Of the 613 platforms, 54.65% were more than 20 years old and 24.63% were 16-20 years old. With the increasing age of an offshore platform, the condition of the structure will experience some damage. In order for the platform to continue its service or extend its operation, the condition of the integrity of the construction of the fixed offshore platform currently needs to be inspected, so that if there is damage to the construction, repairs can be made immediately. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that affect inspections of fixed offshore platforms in Indonesia.
This study uses a questionnaire as a data collection tool. Of the 38 questionnaires that have been filled in, there are 30 questionnaires that can be processed further to the data analysis stage. The factor assessment questionnaire was filled out by senior practitioners or managers up to directors with a minimum of 15 years work experience in companies related to inspection of offshore mounted platforms. Furthermore, factor analysis and descriptive analysis were carried out to draw conclusions on the determinants of inspection of offshore fixed platforms in Indonesia.
Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, from the 10 initial factor variables as determining factors for inspection of offshore fixed platforms, 3 main factors are formed which can represent other variables, the main factors are: environmental conditions, structural design, and anomalies and defects.
