Abstract

Untuk menjaga kinerja refrigrasinya tetap prima, kompresor harus bekerja dalam jangka waktu yang lama. PCM merupakan solusi yang paling menjanjikan untuk mengatasi kelebihan konsumsi energi pada sistem refrigrasi pada aplikasi bidang maritim. Skripsi ini difokuskan pada karakteristik termofisika garam eutektik PCM berdasarkan hasil analisis supercooling, DSC, dan FTR. Morfologi dan struktur mikro komposit (MWCNTs) diperoleh dengan menggunakan mikroskop elektron pemindaian (SEM). Tes pendinginan dilakukan untuk menganalisis variasi PCM mana yang mengalami fenomena pendinginan. 40C. hal ini tidak sesuai dengan teori sifat termofisika dari CNT itu sendiri untuk menurunkan suhu beku larutan basa yang ditambahkannya. Mengenai fenomena supercooling, dari semua sampel yang diuji dengan uji supercooling, tidak ada satu pun sampel yang mengalami fenomena supercooling. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa sampel yang terdiri dari NaCl – H2O + CNT merupakan sampel yang tidak mengalami supercooling dan dapat digunakan untuk aplikasi lebih lanjut.

In order to keep its refrigeration performance on top, the compressor must be working in a long period of time. PCM is the most promising solution to overcome excess energy consumption on refrigeration system in maritime field applications. This bachelor thesis is focused on the thermophysical characteristics of eutectic salt PCM in accordance of supercooling, DSC, and FTIR analysis results. The morphology and microstructure of the composites (MWCNTs) were obtained using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Supercooling test is conducted to analyze which of the PCM variation resort to supercooling phenomenon Whilst with all of the 22 w.t.% NaCl – H2O, with the addition of additive solution the freezing temperature does not drops down respectively, rather stays at a constant number 35C to 40C. this is not in accordance with the theory of the thermophysical characteristic of CNT itself to lower the freezing temperature of a base solution its added to. Regarding to supercooling phenomenon, of all the sample that was tested with the supercooling test, none of the sample resort to supercooling phenomenon. It can be concluded that the sample consisting of NaCl – H2O + CNT is the sample that has no supercooling and may be used in further application.
