Abstract

The Covid-19 virus is an infectious virus that first appeared in Wuhan, China on December 1, 2019. Covid-19 disease can spread through small droplets (droplets) from the nose or mouth when coughing or sneezing. Or it could also be that someone is infected with Covid-19 when accidentally inhaling droplets from sufferers. As a result of the very easy mobility of the virus, the spread of the virus is uncontrollable. Since the number of positive cases of this virus, people are required to comply with predetermined health protocols such as wearing masks, keeping a distance, washing hands, and limiting social interaction for example interactions in the work environment, educational environment where most of the implementation has been changed to Work From Home (WFH). ). At present Indonesia has entered the recovery stage as the economy is starting to improve, the implementation of PPKM is slowly being stopped which means that community activities can return to normal, meaning that the use of public transportation will increase again, which will create crowds in it. Based on this scenario, it is important to carry out an analysis of airflow characteristics in the cabin of public vehicles to determine the possibility of the spread of the Covid-19 virus on public vehicles. So in this final project a numerical simulation will be carried out on Surabaya City Public Transportation (Angkot). In order to analyze the flow characteristics in the Angkot cabin, in this final project, a numerical simulation is carried out with ANSYS FLUENT software. The simulation model in this study is an angkot with an airspeed inlet from the front to represent the wind when driving. Variations made in the form of configuration of window openings (ventilation) and variations in air speed, namely 30 km/hour. Then, to validate the modeling that will be used in the simulation, the pressure results in the simulation will be compared with the experimental pressure results carried out in the wind tunnel. Based on the simulation results, it is concluded that the configuration of window openings affects the spread of Covid-19 in the Angkot cabin. Then from the simulation results that have been carried out with 6 configuration variations of window openings from 3 variations of injection source points, variations that are relatively safe for passengers are in variation 5. Meanwhile, for variations that are relatively dangerous for passengers are in variations 1, 2 and variation 6
