Abstract

Boiler merupakan salah satu alat penunjang operasi system bahan bakar dan pelumas yang memanfaatkan prinsip perpindahan panas. Boiler berperan penting dalam kapal yang berguna untuk memanaskan fuel oil, lube oil, kebutuhan dapur, ruangan, dan air mandi. PT Meratus Line mengharuskan awak kapal ahli dalam mengoperasikan dan merawat berbagai alat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis penyebab kegagalan pada steam generating system dengan menggunakan FMEA sebagai database dan memberikan kemudahan dalam menentukan aksi dan jadwal menggunakan DSS (Decision Support System) untuk steam generating system. Data yang digunakan ada dua jenis, yaitu data primer dan sekunder. Data primer berupa repair report dan monthly report. Data sekunder meliputi skripsi, thesis, buku, dan artikel ilmiah. Selain itu, data juga didapatkan melalui diskusi dengan kru kapal. Diskusi dilakukan terkait analisis dan validasi FMEA. Analisis FMEA dimulai dengan membagi item menjadi sub-item, identifikasi fungsi, identifikasi failure mode, identifikasi local effect dan final effect, identifikasi penyebab, evaluasi pentingnya FMEA, identifikasi aksi. Berdasarkan analisis FMEA, steam side, water dan feed water pump. Berdasarkan analisis diagram pareto per komponen, untuk mencapai hasil sebesar 60% (minimum) harus melakukan follow up action terhadap steam side, water, feed water pump, flame eye sensor detection, water level controller, feed water pipe, feed water pump motor, combustion head, dan evaporator. Rekomendasi perawatan steam side adalah melakukan water treatment dan chemical cleaning seminggu sekali. Rekomendasi perawatan water adalah melakukan water treatment seminggu sekali dan blowdown sebulan sekali. Rekomendasi perawatan feed water pump adalah pengecekan kabel seminggu sekali. Rekomendasi perawatan flame eye sensor detection adalah pembersihan berkala sensor enam bulan sekali. Rekomendasi perawatan water level controller adalah inspeksi berkala controller seminggu sekali dan melakukan pelatihan kepada operator boiler. Rekomendasi perawatan feed water pipe adalah water test dan water treatment seminggu sekali. Rekomendasi perawatan feed water pump motor adalah cek kondisi bearing enam bulan sekali dan pengkabelan seminggu sekali. Rekomendasi perawatan combustion head adalah setting combustion head dengan benar. Rekomendasi perawatan evaporator adalah menggunakan control pH pada feed water dan menambah oxygen scavenger.

The boiler is supporting operation of fuel and lubricant systems that utilize the principle of heat transfer. Boilers play an important role in ships that heat fuel, lube oil, kitchen needs, rooms, and bath water. PT Meratus Line requires crew members to be skilled in operating and maintaining various equipment. The purpose of this study is to analyze the causes of failure in the steam generating system using FMEA as a database and provide convenience in determining actions and schedules using the DSS (Decision Support System) for the steam generating system. There are two types of data used, namely primary and secondary data. Primary data is in the form of repair reports and monthly reports. Secondary data includes theses, theses, books, and scientific articles. In addition, data was also obtained through discussions with the ship's crew. Discussions were held regarding the analysis and validation of FMEA. FMEA analysis begins by dividing items into sub-items, identifying Functions, identifying failure modes, identifying local effects and final effects, identifying causes, evaluating the importance of FMEA, and identifying actions. Based on FMEA analysis, steam side, water, and feed water pump. Based on the analysis of the Pareto diagram per component, to achieve a yield of 60% (minimum), a follow-up action must be taken on the steam side, water, feed water pump, flame eye sensor detection, water level controller, feed water pipe, feed water pump motor, combustion heads, and evaporators. The recommendation for steam side treatment is to do water treatment and chemical cleaning once a week. The recommendations for water are to do water treatment once a week and blowdown once a month. The recommendation for feed water pump maintenance is to check the cable once a month. The maintenance recommendation for flame eye sensor detection is periodic cleaning of the sensor every six month. The recommendations for maintaining the water level controller are controller inspections once a week and conducting training for boiler operators. The recommendation for maintenance of the feed water pipe is regular water tests and water treatments once a week. The recommendation for maintenance of the feed water pump motor is to check the condition of the bearings every six month and wiring once a week. Combustion head maintenance recommendations are setting the combustion head properly. Evaporator maintenance recommendations are to use pH control in feed water and add an oxygen scavenger.
