Abstract

Bending machine is a tool that is usually used by industry to bend industrial components. With the increasing number of consumer requests, it is difficult for producers to meet demand. Thus, bending machines that previously used a manual system in the process relied on human power. Thus, PT Eldira Cipta Prima innovated to make a miniature automatic wire bending machine as a reference which would later be made in the form of an industrial standard scale. In this project using a Nema 17 stepper motor, Arduino Mega 2560, TB6600 Driver, Nokia 5110 LCD Display, 4X4 Keypad. Later, this Miniature Bending will be able to carry out the bending process up to 360° which is controlled by the 4X4 Keypad and monitored using the Nokia 5110 LCD Display. The method used for designing this system uses microstepping to control the rotation angle of the stepper motor and the wire will form an angle that is input through 4X4 keypad then the input and output of the commands given will be monitored using the Nokia 5110 LCD Display. Stepper motors require a controller to rotate using a driver. Here, the author uses the TB6600 driver and uses the 32 microstep mode (6400 steps/rev) where the calculation results that will be used for each degree produce 17,7777778 steps/deg. The results of the calculations that have been carried out and the use of the microstep mode used will be programmed into the Arduino IDE. From the test results of the microstepping method, it can be applied to the bending machine that has been designed. The stepper motor can rotate according to the given angle setpoint. However, for application to the miniature bending design, the bending process cannot be carried out perfectly because the mechanical design is made inefficiently.
