Abstract

Oreochromis mossambicus fish farming in the Delta Mina Sejahtera requires attention regarding pond water salinity. This affects the growth and survival of the fish. The ideal salinity value for Oreochromis mossambicus growth is around 7-8 ppt. High salt content can be reduced in value by sending fresh water. The characteristics of large ponds require an accurate salinity collection and processing system.
In overcoming the problems that arise, a prototype of a water salinity control system is made by implementing a wireless sensor network (WSN) system. The use of wireless sensor networks aims to obtain uniform salinity values by spreading sensor nodes to several points in a large pond area. The data obtained from the sensor nodes is sent to the master node using a radio transceiver. At the master node there is control of water salinity using the Mamdani Fuzzy logic method. In the implemented control system, the membership function consists of two inputs in the form of errors and delta errors from the readings of the salinity sensor which will produce output in the form of the time value of fresh water delivery by the DC pump.
Based on the test results on the prototype that has been made, the application of WSN in sending data from the sensor node to the master node gets a delay of 2.4 seconds. In the salinity control system using Fuzzy Mamdani logic, it is able to reach a state of salinity at a setpoint of 7.5 ppt with a steady state error of 0%. When compared with the MATLAB simulation results, the average response time required for the prototype system to reach a final salinity value of 7.5 ppt is 1.55 seconds slower.
