Abstract

An automatic temperature control system has been made in the oyster mushroom barn using a thermoelectric cooler. This final project begins with system design, followed by making tools and then testing. The system is designed with close loop control using Arduino Uno. When the DHT11 sensor detects the temperature in the room, the data is sent to Arduino Uno to be processed and forwarded as a command. These commands are aimed at the LCD to display temperature readings, the micro SD module to store data, and the relay to turn off or turn on the thermoelectric cooler and fan. Then, the temperature is detected again by the same process. Tests were carried out to control the temperature on the oyster mushroom kumbung prototype according to the programming set point. The prototype of the oyster mushroom kumbung is in the shape of a box and made of two layers of thick plastic material in between the layers of which there is a vacuum filled with Styrofoam. The test results show that the designed system can work according to programming and the thermoelectric cooler is able to cool and maintain the temperature in the test room. The time needed to cool the room is 74 minutes for the set point of 24°C, for the set point of 25°C is 15 minutes, and for the set point the difference in the reduction of the measurement results of the external sensor minus the sensor in the room is is 11 minutes 49 seconds for the set point difference 2°C, and for the set point the difference is 3°C for 27 minutes 43 seconds.
