Abstract
Dua plat konduktor netral dengan jarak yang relatif dekat dan berada dalam ruang vakum akan saling tarik menarik karena adanya efek Casimir akibat fluktuasi vakum. Fluktuasi vakum yang terjadi adalah fluktuasi medan elektromagnetik dalam rongga vakum yang dapat merepresentasikan kemunculan partikel-partikel virtual dalam pandangan elektrodinamika kuantum. Karena dikaji dengan teori elektrodinamika kuantum, maka dalam metodenya perlu dilakukan kuantisasi kedua terhadap medan elektromagnetik yang merupakan medan vektor tak bermassa. Prinsip dari kuantisasi kedua adalah mengubah solusi medan menjadi operator. Nilai dari gaya Casimir didapat melalui perhitungan dengan meninjau dua plat konduktor netral di dalam rongga kubus konduktor yang vakum sehingga suatu syarat batas akan berlaku untuk medan elektromagnetik.

Two neutral conductor plates with a relatively close distance and in a vacuum chamber will attract each other due to the Casimir effect due to vacuum fluctuations. The vacuum fluctuations that occur are fluctuations in the electromagnetic field in the vacuum cavity that can represent the appearance of virtual particles in the view of quantum electrodynamics. Because it is studied with the theory of quantum electrodynamics, the method needs to do a second quantization of the electromagnetic field which is a massless vector field. The principle of the second quantization is to convert the field solution into operators. The value of the Casimir force is obtained through calculations by reviewing two neutral conductor plates in a vacuum conductor cube cavity so that a boundary condition will apply to the electromagnetic field.
