Abstract

The West Natuna Basin is one of the hydrocarbon-producing basins in Indonesia, where this research focuses on the Upper Gabus Formation, Anoa Field. The Upper Gabus Formation
was chosen as the focus of the research area because the Upper Gabus Formation itself has become the main target of exploration in the West Natuna Basin. The choice of using the RMS amplitude seismic attribute can determine the reservoir area by estimating the contact. In searching for reservoir information through seismic signals, it can be done using an amplitude that helps in the process of calculating hydrocarbon reserves. Calculation of hydrocarbon
reserves in the Upper Gabus Formation is carried out using the Volumetric method with the OGIP equation. From the results of the well seismic tie picking, the time contour map is obtained and then the depth contour map is obtained. Volumetric calculations were carried out to determine the hydrocarbon reserves in the research area.
Based on the results of the well data correlation, there are potential areas for hydrocarbons in the Anoa Field in the WL-1, AQ-4X and AQ-2X wells from Top UG-3 to Base UG-3, while there is no potential area in UG-1 and UG-2 because there are no data that exactly crosses UG1 and UG-2. The RMS amplitude extraction distribution can be used to determine the reservoir area by estimating the contact, so that the volumetric calculation in Anoa Field has a potential gas reserve of 1,287 Bscf in UG-1, 3.2 Bscf in UG-2, 16,106 Bscf in UG-3.
