Abstract
The low-rise building has room that exposed to outdoor climate such as balcony. This area can be optimized as the expansion of green areas by vertical vegetation system. Vertical vegetation system has impact to thermal environment with indications of temperature reduce and relative humidity increase which is by evapotranspiration. This study will examine the effect of leaves exuberance to thermal performance at low-rise building with indicators of temperature and relative humidity. Experiments using room models with 1:1 scale are conducted in the university dormitory, at ITS, Surabaya. The result shows as the greater leaves exuberance, the higher reduction temperature and increase relative humidity inside building
