Abstract

Recently, architecture has faced these challenges: problems of humanity, nature, and technology in sustainable architecture. This paper aim to examine carefully what function must be used in architecture when facing these challenges. This paper is theoretical and using qualitative research. The objects of studies are literature, criticism and other written data. The methods used to describe the function and to make the proposition about function are logical argumentation and critical method. The result is the proposition about function, according to the 21th century’s challenges.
