Abstract

Hutan Sumber Pawon merupakan salah satu hutan hujan tropis di Jawa Timur yang diasumsikan memiliki keanekaragaman tumbuhan termasuk tumbuhan bawah. Spesies genus Smilax merupakan salah satu tumbuhan bawah yang tumbuh di Hutan Sumber Pawon, Kediri. Spesies genus Smilax merupakan salah satu tumbuhan yang dapat dijadikan sebagai obat. Berdasarkan analisis fitokimia, genus Smilax memiliki kandungan steroidal saponin yang melimpah. Steroidal saponin menunjukkan kemampuan aktivitas biologis seperti aktivitas sitotoksik, hemolitik, anti-inflamasi, anti jamur dan antibakteri. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman spesies genus Smilax di Hutan Sumber Pawon, Kediri, dan mengkategorikan spesies genus Smilax apa saja yang memiliki potensi sebagai obat berdasarkan zat kimia yang terkandung, serta mengetahui faktor lingkungan apa saja yang memengaruhi keanekaragaman spesies genus Smilax di Hutan Sumber Pawon, Kediri. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Januari-Maret 2022. Observasi dilakukan dengan pengamatan pada 14 titik di Hutan Sumber Pawon untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman spesies genus Smilax sehingga didapatkan data mengenai jenis dan jumlah individu spesies genus Smilax. Identifikasi dilakukan dengan mengamati morfologi genus Smilax dan studi literatur. Metode analisis yang digunakan yaitu metode ordinasi dengan menggunakan program CANOCO for windows 4.5 sehingga diketahui preferensi dari masing-masing individu spesies genus Smilax. Berdasarkan penelitian genus Smilax yang ditemukan sebanyak enam spesies yaitu Smilax ovalifolia, Smilax weniae, Smilax glauca, Smilax celebica, Smilax pseudochina, dan Smilax luculenta ditemukan di Hutan Sumber Pawon, Kediri. Jenis Smilax yang sudah teruji kandungan kimia dan manfaatnya adalah Smilax ovalifolia dan Smilax celebica. Sedangkan, faktor lingkungan yang berkontribusi terhadap preferensi tumbuh Smilax adalah suhu dan intensitas cahaya (p-value: 0,000) dan kelembapan tidak berpengaruh signifikan (p-value: 0.1420)

Sumber Pawon Forest is one of the tropical rain forests in East Java which is assumed to have a diversity of plants including undergrowth. Smilax genus species is one of the undergrowth that grows in Sumber Pawon Forest, Kediri. Smilax genus species is one of the plants that can be used as medicine. Based on the phytochemical analysis, the Smilax genus contains abundant steroidal saponins. Steroidal saponins show the ability of biological activities such as cytotoxic, hemolytic, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and antibacterial activities. This research was conducted to determine the diversity of species of the Smilax genus in Sumber Pawon Forest, Kediri, and to categorize which species of the Smilax genus have potential as drugs based on the chemical substances contained, as well as to find out what environmental factors influence the species diversity of the Smilax genus in Sumber Pawon Forest. , Kediri. This research was conducted in January-March 2022. Observations were made by observing 14 points in the Sumber Pawon Forest to determine the species diversity of the Smilax genus so that data was obtained regarding the type and number of individual species of the Smilax genus. Identification was carried out by observing the morphology of the Smilax genus and studying the literature. The analytical method used is the ordinate method using the CANOCO for Windows 4.5 program so that the preferences of each individual species of the Smilax genus are known. Based on research on the Smilax genus, six species were found, namely Smilax ovalifolia, Smilax weniae, Smilax glauca, Smilax celebica, Smilax pseudochina, and Smilax cutelenta found in Sumber Pawon Forest, Kediri. Smilax types that have been tested for their chemical content and benefits are Smilax ovalifolia and Smilax celebica. Meanwhile, the environmental factors that contributed to Smilax's growth preference were temperature and light intensity (p-value: 0.000) and humidity had no significant effect (p-value: 0.1420)
