Abstract

The lack of solar radiation and luminance data is the main problem of the development of natural lighting and solar radiation in building in many countries. Therefore, the CIE - Commission of Internationale de l’Eclairage launched a program called IDMP–International Daylight Measurement Programme in 1991. In order to take part to the IDMP and collecting data in tropics area, a solar radiation and illuminance measurement station has been established in Makassar since January 1995 to 2000. Furthermore, global illuminance and diffuse illuminance measerement continued in April 2010 in cooperation with The University of Hong Kong. The characteristic of global cumulative luminous efficacy (Kg) is y = -0.431x2 + 12.96x + 11.30 with corelation factor of 0.593. The characteristic of diffuse cumulative luminous efficacy (Kd) is y = -0.431x2 + 12.96x + 11.30 with factor of corelation is 0.508. The global cumulative luminous efficacy (Kg) according to sky conditions are: Kg-clear sky = 130- 150, Kg-intermediate sky = 70-130, and Kg-overcast sky = 40-70. The diffuse cumulative luminous efficacy (Kd) according to sky conditions are: Kd-clear sky = 100-120, Kd-berawan = 70-100, and Kd-oevrcasr sky = 40-70. The value and characteristic of luminous efficacy is needed to determine the luminance or and solar radiation if the measured data not available or limited. Both of them are very important component in calculation and the application of daylight and solar radiation in building. This research applied value and characteristic of luminous efficacy as the result of previous research concerning determination of luminance value based on available solar radiation data from August-December 2013 measured at Hasanuddin University, Faculty of Engineering New Campus in Gowa. This research covers: 1) processing and collection techniques of global radiation data, 2) processing of solar radiation data based on IDMP, and 3) determination of luminance using luminous efficacy values.
