Abstract

Seismic tomography method is a technic used to reveal images of Earth’s interior structure using earthquake wavelength records. The implementation of this method is expected to get further detailed images of Earth’s interior structure in the Earth’s heat field area. Tomographic research done at the Wayang Windu’s area was using microearthquake waveligths source from the injection well. Seismic wave propagate through medium to get on Earth surface by using phisycal characteristic of the propagation medium which determined by physical parameter as like as velocity parameter. The data processing itself, consist of hypocentric determination using Single Event Determination (SED) method and 3 Dimentional velocity distribution which divided into three stages: location determination in 3D models using ray-tracing algorythm, grid parameter, and inversion using LSQR iterative method. The result of this seismic tomography data processing method is to models the Earth’s interior structure through Vp/Vs ratio and velociy anomaly. The highest Vp/Vs ratio value in 2-4 km depth = 1.785; this results strengthen the possibilty that those depth is the cap rock zone above reservoir of Wayang Windu area. Another result is that in 5-8 km depth, determined by the lowest of Vp/Vs ratio. This indicated the presence of anomalies around the Vp / Vs ratio is greater because of anomalies in the subsurface that are directly related to reservoir zones which reflect weak areas (less dense) associated with hydraulic fracturing and volcanic activity.
