Abstract

Central Processing Unit (CPU) adalah satu lapangan produksi milik TOTAL E&P Indonesie. Energi listrik di CPU dihasilkan oleh empat unit turbin gas, dua diantaranya adalah Turbine Engine Generator (TEG) 6210 dan TEG 6220. Keduanya merupakan turbin gas tipe Centaur 40-4501. Power outputmaksimum yang dapat dihasilkan adalah sebesar 2,5 MWe. Terjadi penurunan power output ketika dilakukan tes unjuk kerja pada bulan Januari 2014 lalu. Peningkatan ambient temperature njadi salah satu faktor penyebab penurunan power output kedua turbin gas tersebut. Analisa termodinamika dilakukan untuk mengetahui unjuk kerja kedua TEG. Ambient temperature dan base load menjadi varibel penelitian ini. Parameter unjuk kerja turbin gas yang menjadi output penelitian adalah thermal efficiency, power output, specific fuel consumption, dan heat rate. Hasil yang didapat dalam penelitian ini adalah besarnya unjuk kerja dan persentase penurunan power ouput akibat kenaikan ambient temperature pada kondisi testing & comissioning ke kondisi existing. Di akhir pembahasan, diperoleh hubungan antara kenaikan ambient temperature terhadap unjuk kerja turbin gas. Thermal efficiency dan power output menjadi semakin rendah ketika ambient temperature semakin tinggi, namun specific fuel consumption dan heat rate mengalami peningkatan. Secara umum, kenaikan ambient temperature dapat menyebabkan penurunan unjuk kerja turbin gas apabila dilihat dari keempat parameter tersebut.

Central Processing Unit (CPU) is a unit process in Tambora Field Operations, one of the field production belongs to TOTAL E&P Indonesie. Elecrtical energy in CPU is generated by four gas turbine units named Turbine Engine Generator (TEG) 6210 and 6220. These units are a Solar Turbine Generator type Centaur 40-4501. The power output generated by TEG 6210 and 6220 at the maximum load is up to 2,5 MWe. However, when the performance test was conducted in January 2014, power output is found to be decreased.. The cause of this decreament is an increament in ambient temperature. Based on journals, the changes of ambient temperature have a big influence to the performance in case of power output produced by gas turbine. Thermodynamic analyisis is being conducted to determine the performance of TEG 6210 and TEG 6220 based on existing data. The result obtained will be compared with the performance based on testing & comissioning condition.Performance parameters being discussed are thermal efficiency, specific fuel consmption, power output and heat rate. The study was followed by an analysis about the relation between ambient temperature variations and gas turbine performance at different base load of TEG 6210 and TEG 6220.The result obtained in this study is the degradation percentage of ouput power due to the increasement of ambient temperature at testing & comissioning and existing condition. Output power of TEG 6210 is found to be decreased by 20% while TEG 6220 is 21,9%. The existing value of thermal efficiency, specific fuel consumption, and heat rate are also being calculated. At the end of this discussion, the relation between ambient temperature and gas turbine’s performance is obtained. The higher the ambient temperature, the lower the thermal efficiency and the output power. However, the higher the ambient temperature, the higher the specific fuel consumption and the heat rate required by the gas turbine. Generally, an increasement in ambient temperature can cause a degradation in gas turbine’s performance based ese four parameters.
