Abstract

In 2021, the three provinces with the highest number of cases of pneumonia under five in Indonesia are East Java with 74,071, followed by West Java with 67,185 cases and Central Java with 35,978 cases. According to WHO (2010) Pneumonia can be transmitted in several ways, one of which is through the air where there are viruses and bacteria that cause pneumonia in it. The mortality rate or Case Fatality Rate for toddler pneumonia in East Java is 0.042%, meaning that there are 4 deaths out of 10,000 cases of toddler pneumonia. Pneumonia is the main factor causing under-five deaths in East Java in 2021. The number of under-five deaths caused by pneumonia is 12.7%, greater than diarrhea. Based on this, appropriate modeling is needed to analyze the predictor variables that influence the number of cases of pneumonia under five in East Java. Each region has different characteristics, these differences cause spatial effects, so to overcome this one of the methods used is Geographically Weighted Negative Binomial Regression (GWNBR). The highest number of cases of pneumonia under five occurred in Kab. Sidoarjo and the lowest is Pacitan Regency. Modeling with GWNBR produces 9 groups based on significant variables where the influencing factors in all districts/cities are population density and the percentage of under-five health service coverage.
