Abstract
Berkembangnya sentra wisata dan jumlah wisatawan di kota Surabaya dinilai menguntungkan bagi pemilik bisnis penginapan, karena itu banyaknya penginapan berbintang hingga kelas melati bermunculan di kota Surabaya membuat persaingan sangat ketat. Salah satu jenis usaha penginapan yang sedang bersaing dan berpotensi besar untuk berkembang pesat adalah homestay. Homestay adalah sebuah kamar kosong yang disewakan oleh pemilik rumah secara harian atau bulanan yang berkonsep santai, ramah dan kekeluargaan dengan adanya
fasilitas umum seperti dapur dan ruang makan yang dapat digunakan bersama dengan penginap lain, sehingga menciptakan suasana seperti menginap dirumah sendiri. Umumnya homestay berada di perumahan atau desa wisata karena fungsinya sebagai media pengenalan terhadap budaya sekitar.
Homestay “Penginapan Darma” adalah sebuah homestay yang berdiri di Surabaya sejak tahun 1984. Redesain Homestay “Penginapan Darma” bertujuan untuk memperbaiki segala masalah yang ada pada eksisting juga untuk memperkuat kualitas homestay kedepannya sebagai kompetitor dalam persaingan bisnis penginapan. Langgam kontemporer dipilih karena karakteristiknya yang kekinian, fleksibel dan berkaitan dengan prinsip arsitektur dan desain interior Bali.

The development of tourist centers and the number of tourists in the city of Surabaya is considered beneficial for lodging business owners, because of that the number
of star-rated inns to jasmine classes have sprung up in the city of Surabaya making competition very tight. One type of lodging business that is competing and has great potential for rapid growth is homestay.
A homestay is a vacant room that is rented by homeowners on a daily or monthly basis with a relaxed, friendly and family concept with public facilities such as a kitchen and dining room that can be used together with other lodgers, thus creating an atmosphere like staying at your own home. Generally homestays are in housing or tourist villages
because of their function as a medium of introduction to the surrounding culture.
"Darma Lodging" homestay is a homestay established in Surabaya since 1984. The redesign of Homestay "Darma Lodging" aims to improve all existing problems and
strengthen the quality of future homestays as competitors in the competition in the lodging business. The contemporary style was chosen because of its contemporary, flexible
characteristics and relates to the principles of Balinese architecture and interior design.
