Abstract

Persaingan perguruan tinggi semakin ketat di era globalisasi saat ini. Institut Teknologi Nasional (ITN) Malang merupakan salah satu Perguruan Tinggi Swasta yang ada di Kota Malang yang memiliki 11 Jurusan dengan predikat akreditasi B. Program studi (PS) Magister Teknik Sipil ITN Malang merupakan institusi perguruan tinggi swasta satu-satunya di Kota Malang dengan peminatan atau konsentrasi Manajemen Konstruksi. Potensi program studi untuk menyumbangkan hasil capaian dan luaran pendidikannya kepada masyarakat berdasarkan pertumbuhan ekonomi secara nasional masih terbuka lebar. Namun, jumlah mahasiswa aktif Magister Teknik Sipil ITN Malang cenderung tidak stabil untuk setiap semesternya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menentukan positioning obyek amatan terhadap pesaing sehingga dapat membantu dalam mengarahkan strategi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan merancang business model baru menggunakan pendekatan blue ocean strategy serta menerjemahkan menjadi action plan agar menciptakan keunggulan bersaing dibandingkan dengan kompetitor sejenis mengembangkan bisnis Program Magister Teknik Sipil ITN Malang. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terciptanya business model baru bagi Program Magister Teknik Sipil ITN Malang dengan pendekatan Blue Ocean Strategy agar tercipta value tambahan sehingga kedepannya dapat menghasilkan revenue stream baru bagi keberlanjutan bisnis Program Magister Teknik Sipil ITN Malang di masa mendatang.

Competition among universities is becoming increasingly fierce in the current era of globalization. Institut Teknologi Nasional (ITN) Malang is one of the private universities located in Malang city, offering 11 departments with a B accreditation rating. The Master's program in Civil Engineering at ITN Malang is the only private higher education institution in Malang city that specializes in Construction Management. The potential of the program to contribute its achievements and educational outcomes to society, based on national economic growth, remains wide open. However, the number of active students in the Master's program in Civil Engineering at ITN Malang tends to be unstable every semester. The aim of this research is to determine the positioning of the observed object in relation to competitors in order to assist in directing strategies. This research is conducted by designing a new business model using the blue ocean strategy approach and translating it into an action plan to create a competitive advantage compared to similar competitors in developing the business of the Master's program in Civil Engineering at ITN Malang. The result of this research is the creation of a new business model for the Master's program in Civil Engineering at ITN Malang using the Blue Ocean Strategy approach to generate additional value, thus enabling the future generation of new revenue streams for the sustainability of the Master's program in Civil Engineering at ITN Malang in the future.
