Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang penambahan campuran Poly Ethylene Terephthalate (PET) dan Coconut Fiber Ash (CFA) sebagai subsitusi agregat halus untuk melihat karakteristik beton komposit. Dilakukan variasi penambahan persentase berat PET sebesar 3%, 5% dan 8% dan penggunaan persentase berat CFA sebesar 5%, 10% dan 15% menggantikan agregat halus pasir. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan campuran beton normal sesuai dengan SNI 03-2834-2000 yaitu yang terdiri dari pasir, batu, semen, dan air. Benda uji berbentuk silinder dengan diameter 10 cm dan tinggi 20 cm. Pengujian yang dilakukan adalah uji densitas beton, uji tekan, uji tarik belah, dan analisis rule of mixture bahan komposit. Pengujian ini dilakukan pada saat beton berumur 28 hari. Dari hasil analisis pengujian diperoleh bahwa semakin banyak penambahan campuran PET dan CFA pada beton menurunkan nilai kuat tekan, kuat tarik belah dan modulus elastisitas beton. Nilai terbaik terjadi pada persentase berat campuran PET 3% dan CFA 5% menghasilkan nilai kuat tekan beton sebesar 19.48 MPa, kuat tarik belah beton 6.86 MPa dan modulus elastisitas 19.993 GPa.

Research has been done on the addition of a mixture of Poly Ethylene Terephthalate(PET) and Coconut Fiber Ash (CFA) as a substitute for fine aggregate to see the characteristics of composite concrete. Variations were made to increase the weightpercentage of PET by 3%, 5% and 8% and use CFA by weight percentage of 5%,10% and 15% to replace the fine sand aggregate. This study uses a normal concrete mix design in accordance with SNI 03-2834-2000 which consists of sand, stone,cement, and water. The test object is cylindrical with a diameter of 10 cm and a height of 20 cm. The tests carried out are concrete density test, compression test, split tensile test, and analysis of the rule of mixture of composite materials. This test was carried out when the concrete was 28 days old. From the test analysis, it was found that the more addition of a mixture of PET and CFA to the concrete the lower the compressive strength, split tensile strength and modulus of elasticity of concrete. The best value occurred in the percentage of the weight of the mixture of PET 3% and CFA 5% resulting in a concrete compressive strength of 19.48 MPa, a split tensile strength of 6.86 MPa and an elastic modulus of 19,993 GPa.
