Abstract

Sungai, sebagai contoh salah satu perairan dalam, memiliki peranan yang sangat vital bagi kehidupan dan perekonomian masyarakat sekitarnya. Selain itu secara tidak langsung, sungai juga berperan penting bagi industri-industri yang ada di luar wilayah tersebut. Hal ini disebabkan, sungai tersebut berfungsi sebagai jalur transportasi pengiriman bahan bakar serta bahan baku untuk industri di beberapa wilayah. Untuk melakukan pengangkutan melalui sungai, umumnya digunakan kapal tongkang dan ditarik menggunakan kapal tunda. Penggunaan kapal tunda ini disebabkan karena sungai tidak dapat di/a/ui oleh kapal-kapal besar. Saat ini, kapal tunda yang banyak beroperasi di perairan sungai masih menggunakan kapal tunda konvensional, yaitu dengan sistem Convensional Towing-rope Tug Boat. Pada kenyataannya, penggunaan kapal tunda jenis ini masih menyisakan beberapa kendala. Diantaranya diakibatkan oleh kondisi perairan yang menyulitkan pengoperasian kapal tunda tersebut, terutama untuk daerah-daerah yang memiliki tikungan tajam dan berarus, serta di daerah yang cenderung terjadi pendangkalan sungai. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah dengan menggunakan kapal tunda jenis Pusher-barge atau yang sering disebut Push Boat. Berbeda dengan Tug Boat pada umumnya, Push Boat dioperasikan dengan cara mendorong tongkang dengan mengikatkan bagian belakang tongkang dengan bagian depan pada Push Boat (Pusher-barge Combination). Bila dibandingkan, Push Boat memiliki beberapa keuntungan, diantaranya (i) Push Boat dan tongkang terikat menjadi satu kesatuan sehingga lebih mudah dalam pergerakannya (maneuvering). (ii) Pergerakan tongkang dapat lebih terkendali di daerah berarus, karena tongkang bergerak sesuai pergerakan Push Boat. (iii) Lebih mudah dalam proses bongkar muat dan berlabuh. (iv) Memiliki sarat kapal yang lebih kecil. Dalam makalah ini, analisis perancangan Push Boat untuk Pusher-barge 6840 DWT untuk sungai di Kalimantan diuraikan. Perancangan kapal ini diawali dengan penentuan variables, parameters dan batasan-batasan (constraints) yang sesuai dengan kondisi perairan kapal tersebut beroperasi. Selanjutnya proses optimasi dilakukan untuk menentukan ukuran utama kapal yang optimal, dan fungsi obyektif dalam proses ini adalah meminimalkan biaya total pembangunan kapal. Dari hasil proses ini, ukuran utama optimal yang didapatkan adalah sebagai berikut: Lpp = 29.9754 m, Bmoulded = 9.1858 m, Hmou/ded = 3.8409 m, T = 2.1636 m. Kemudian, gambar rencana garis dan rencana umum dari hasil perancangan kapa/ ini juga disajikan dan dianalisis.

River, as an example of inland waterway, has a very important role which is vital to the life and economic of its surrounding people. Moreover, in a manner indirectly, river is also important to industries which are located outside the area, since, river acts as a transport for delivering fuel and raw material for industry in several places. To carry goods through the river, we usually use barges which are pulled by tug boats. The use of a tug boat is for a reason that river cannot be passed by big boat. Nowadays, a barge, which operates at the river waterway still uses the conventional tug boat, which is the conventional towing rope tug boat system. On the contrary, the use of this kind of tug boat still left a fow disadvantages. Some of them are caused by the waterway condition which makes the operation of tug boat have difficulties, mostly for the area that has tight curves and currently also in the trivialized river. To anticipate those problems, the usage of "pusher-barge typed" tug boats is suggested. They are often known as push boat. Different from the usual kind of tug boat, a push boat is operated by pushing a barge where the back side of the barge is tied with the front side of the push boat (a pusher barge combination). If compared, a push boat has several advantages, which are (i) the barge and the push boat tied together forms as one unit, so it is easier in the movement (maneuvering), (ii) the movement of the barge becomes more controllable in the wary, because the barge moves along with the movement of the push boat, (iii) easier in the loading and berthing process, (iv) it has a lower draught. In this report, an analysis of the push boat design for a 6840 DWT pusher barge at rivers in Kalimantan is presented. The design process of this boat starts with stating variables, parameters and constraints which are appropriate with the condition of the boat operational area. Then, the optimization process is carried out to choose the optimum principal dimensions. The objective function of this process is to minimize the shipbuilding cost. The result of this process is the main optimum principal dimensions, which are Lpp = 29.9754 m, Bmoulded = 9.1858 m, Hmoulded = 3.8409 m, T = 2.1636 m. Finally, the drawing of lines plan and general arrangement of this design are also given and analyzed.
