Abstract

To improve the reliability of the Jakarta sub-system, a 500 kV Duri Kosambi – Muara Karang high-voltage overhead line (SUTET) is currently under construction, which is planned to be completed and operational in October 2022. With the addition of 500 kV Duri Kosambi – Muara Karang SUTET to the sub-system Jakarta, where the configuration of the power flow system, protection and system strength changes significantly, it is necessary to adjust the defense schemes from the previous ones. Defense Schemes are defense schemes that can detect pre-determined system conditions and take preventive actions to limit the impact of widespread disruptions even blackouts. Power flow simulation is performed using DIgSILENT Power Factory 15.1 software and contingency analysis is useful for predicting disturbances that can occur in the transmission system. The power flow simulation uses the Newton-Raphson method as a non-linear equation solving algorithm because it is more efficient and practical for large systems. Based on the results of the contingency analysis, it is possible to map the needs for changes in defense schemes in the new system.
