Abstract

Laporan proyek ini membahas penerapan 13 butir kompetensi arsitek dalam perancangan kantor dan gudang di Medokan Sawah Timur serta perancangan rumah tinggal di Balikpapan. Laporan ini menyoroti kemampuan arsitek dalam menghasilkan rancangan arsitektur yang memenuhi standar estetika, persyaratan teknis, dan berfokus pada pelestarian lingkungan. Kompetensi yang mencakup pengetahuan sejarah, teori arsitektur, seni, teknologi, dan ilmu pengetahuan manusia, serta perancanaan dan perancangan kota. Selain itu, laporan ini menekankan pemahaman akan hubungan antara manusia, bangunan, dan lingkungan, serta pentingnya mengintegrasikan kebutuhan manusia dengan skala yang sesuai. Arsitek juga diharapkan menguasai pengetahuan tentang daya dukung lingkungan, aspek keprofesian, metode penelusuran dan penyiapan program rancangan, permasalahan struktur, konstruksi, dan rekayasa bangunan. Selain itu, pengetahuan tentang aspek fisik, fisika, teknologi, dan fungsi bangunan yang melengkapi kenyamanan dan perlindungan terhadap iklim setempat, serta keterampilan untuk memenuhi persyaratan pengguna dan peraturan bangunan. Arsitek juga diharapkan menguasai pengetahuan tentang industri, organisasi, peraturan, dan proses penerjemahan konsep perancangan menjadi bangunan secara menyeluruh. Selain itu, pemahaman tentang pendanaan proyek, manajemen proyek, dan pengendalian biaya pembangunan juga menjadi bagian penting dalam kompetensi arsitek.

This project report discusses the application of 13 competencies of architects in the design of offices and warehouses in Medokan Sawah Timur, as well as residential homes in Balikpapan. The report highlights the architects' abilities to produce architectural designs that meet aesthetic standards, technical requirements, and prioritize environmental preservation. The competencies encompass knowledge of history, architectural theory, art, technology, and the humanities, as well as urban planning and design skills. Furthermore, the report emphasizes understanding the relationship between humans, buildings, and the environment, as well as the importance of integrating spaces to meet human needs on an appropriate scale. Architects are expected to possess knowledge of environmental sustainability, professional aspects, tracing methods, and program preparation for design projects, along with structural, construction, and engineering issues related to building design. Additionally, they should have adequate knowledge of the physical aspects, physics, technology, and functions of buildings, enabling them to provide comfort and protection against local climates. Proficiency in skills required to meet the requirements of building users within budget constraints and building regulations is also essential. Architects should also have sufficient knowledge of the industry, organizations, regulations, and processes involved in translating design concepts into comprehensive plans. Understanding project funding, project management, and cost control are equally crucial components of architectural competency.
