Abstract

Kecepatan arrus spring tide sebelum reklamasi terjadi dengan kecepatan 0.0314 m/s, sedangkan kecepatan arus spring tide setelah reklamasi sebesar 0.0209 m/s. Begitupun ketika keadaan neap tide, kecepatan arus sebelum reklamasi dapat mencapai 0.0274 m/s, sedangkan untuk kecepatan arus tertinggi saat neap tide ketika reklamasi mencapai 0.0169 m/s. Berdasarkan 8 titik area observasi, laju laju sedimen sebelum reklamasi dapat mencapai 0.0187 m/Bulan, sedangkan ketika adanya reklamasi laju sedimen meningkat sebesar 0.0563 m/Bulan.

In mid-2018, dredging and reclamation activities began at Melasti Beach, Badung Regency, Bali Province. These activities were completed during the 2021 pandemic, covering a total reclamation area of 2.6 hectares. The reclaimed area resembles a seawall with a fish pond in the middle. Sedimentation started occurring at both ends of the reclamation area. The author intends to conduct a research study to assess the impact of these dredging and reclamation activities before and after their occurrence. This study will employ numerical modeling using Delft3D software to determine the flow patterns and sediment deposition occurring at Melasti Beach. The current patterns in this area have not undergone any changes, but the current velocities have decreased due to the reclamation barriers. The pre-reclamation spring tide velocity was recorded at 0.0314 m/s, while the post-reclamation velocity decreased to 0.0209 m/s. Similarly, during neap tide conditions, the pre-reclamation current velocity reached 0.0274 m/s, while the highest current velocity during neap tide after reclamation was measured at 0.0169 m/s. Based on observations from eight monitoring points, the sedimentation rate prior to reclamation was 0.0187 m/month, whereas after reclamation, the sedimentation rate increased to 0.0563 m/month. This increase in sedimentation rate is attributed to the reclamation, causing sediment particles to settle in the surrounding area and float towards the boundaries of the model.
