Abstract

Gorontalo Province spans an area of 11,257 km2 and possesses significant geological resources, including recently discovered porphyry copper and gold deposits. To effectively utilize these resources, PT. Gorontalo Minerals is undertaking a mining port development initiative to enhance mining logistics accessibility. The initial phase of this development is scheduled for implementation between 2026 and 2035, with a target production rate of 25,000 tons per month. The mining port is designed to handle approximately 25,000 tons of dry bulk goods, utilizing an ore carrier vessel with a capacity of up to 35,000 DWT for monthly shipments. The mining port features a jetty that measures 250 meters in length and 20 meters in width. Furthermore, the anchorage depth is estimated to be around -30 meters LWS (Low Water Springs). In order to accommodate the loading and unloading operations of an ore carrier vessel, it is necessary to establish a jetty mooring system. The jetty layout adheres to the specifications outlined in "BS 6349 4:2014" published by BSI (British Standards Institution), while the mooring line configuration complies with the guidelines provided in "MarCom WG24: Criteria for Movements of Moored Ships in Harbors - A Practical Guide" published by PIANC. Differences in mooring line tension due to sea tides effect along with dynamic ship motion during loading and unloading operation will be analyzed using Orcaflex.
