Abstract

Corrosion is a material degradation that occurs naturally and inevitably occurs. Corrosion often causes losses, especially for offshore structures. In tackling corrosion, one of the corrosion prevention methods is used, namely cathodic protection with the DnVGL-RPB401 standard. This standard is used to determine the efficiency of the anode in cathodic protection. In this study, the sacrificial anode efficiency test equipment was redesigned according to the DnVGL-RPB401 standard, and then tested using variations in electrolyte temperature, namely 20°C ,25°C, 30°C, and 35°C. The design of the efficiency test equipment that has been designed has been calibrated with the PT. Indocast Fransasia Sejahtera with an error value of 0.99% with a comparison of the efficiency of the sacrificial anode at PT. Indocast Fransasia Sejahtera obtained an efficiency value of 91.96% while the results of tests carried out using test equipment from the ITS corrosion laboratory obtained an efficiency value of 92.95%. The effect of increasing the temperature of the electrolyte solution on the value of the efficiency of the sacrificial anode is decreasing. At various electrolyte temperatures, the anode efficiency values from highest to lowest were at temperatures of 20°C, 25°C, 30°C, and 35°C with sacrificial anode efficiencies of 92.95%, 90.39%, 88.15%, and 77.24 %.
