Abstract

In an offshore platform development project, good scheduling is needed so that all
processes in the project run smoothly. The most common method used in planning projects is
the Critical Path Method (CPM). However, over time, a new method emerged called Critical
Chain Project Management (CCPM) in which this method removed the safety time used in each
activity which was then replaced with buffer time. The project used in this final project is
drawing topside & jacket wellhead platform. This study provides a comparison of the
scheduling results in the form of duration and direct labor costs between the CPM method and
the CCPM method. Project scheduling using the CPM method produces a duration of 152 days
with direct labor costs of IDR 447,200,000. While the CCPM method produces a duration of
125 days at a cost of Rp. 366,704,000. There is a reduction in duration of 27 days and a
reduction in costs of IDR 80,496,000. From the scheduling results, a monte carlo simulation is
then carried out using Crystal Ball software based on three duration parameters (minimum,
most likely, maximum) to determine the probability of completion of the project where the
simulation results show that the estimated project completion is in the range of around 108 days
to 134 days with an average project can be completed within 122 days.
