Abstract

PLTU Tarahan adalah Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap yang berada di Kabupaten Lampung Selatan, Provinsi Lampung. PLTU ini memiliki 2 unit operasi yaitu unit operasi 3 dan 4 berkapasitas 2 X 100 MW yang dioperasikan oleh PT PLN Sektor Pembangkitan Tarahan. Sudah tentu PLTU Tarahan sangat mengutamakan keselamatan dari para pekerjanya dari berbagai risiko pekerjaan, salah satunya adalah busur api atau arc flash. Busur api merupakan pelepasan energi yang terjadi pada saat gangguan listrik ketika arus mengalir melewati udara antara 2 konduktor dan menyebabkan hubung singkat (short circuit). Akibat dari busur api dapat sangat bahaya bagi sistem kelistrikan dan para pekerja, seperti ledakan besar dengan panas yang menyengat, uap beracun, cahaya yang menyilaukan, suara yang memekakkan telinga, dan gelombang dengan tekanan besar. Oleh karena itu, bahaya ini perlu diminimalisir demi mengurangi kerugian dan risiko terhadap pekerja dengan mengenakan alat pelindung diri atau personal protective equipment (PPE) di area bahaya busur api berdasarkan standar National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E. Alat pelindung diri dapat ditentukan dari hasil perhitungan besar energi insiden busur api menggunakan standar IEEE 1548-2002. Semakin besar energi insiden maka risiko dampak bahayanya juga akan semakin besar sehingga harus dikurangi. Caranya adalah dengan menghilangkan gangguan dengan lebih cepat. Salah satu metode yang efisien untuk digunakan adalah zone selective interlocking (ZSI) karena dapat mempercepat waktu trip untuk menghilangkan gangguan. Dengan penggunaan metode ZSI diharapkan dapat mengurangi energi insiden busur api dan dapat jadi bahan pertimbangan bagi PLTU Tarahan Lampung.

PLTU Tarahan is a steam power plant located in South Lampung Regency, Lampung Province. This power plant has 2 operation units which is operation unit 3 and 4 with capacity of 2 X 100 MW and operated by PT PLN generation sector Tarahan. PLTU Tarahan certainly prioritize the safety of their workers from every job risk, one of them is the danger of arc flash. Arc flash is an energy release which occurs during an electrical fault when current flows through the air between two conductors and causing a short circuit. The effect of arc flash is very dangerous for the electrical system and workers, which are deafening noise, blinding light, searing heat, toxic fumes, powerful explosion, and massive pressure waves. Therefore, these dangers have to be minimalize to reduce damage and risk for the workers by using personal protective equipment in the arc flash danger area based on National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E standard. Personal protective equipment can be determined from the result of incident energy arc flash using Std IEEE 1548-2002. The greater the energy incident, then the greater the harmful impact so that has to be reduced. The solution is to clear the fault more quickly. One of the efficient method to use is zone selective interlocking (ZSI) because it can make the tripping time faster to clear the fault. With the use of ZSI method, hopefully it could reduce energy incident of arc flash and can be used as a consideration for PLTU Tarahan Lampung.
