Abstract

Korosi adalah kerusakan suatu material akibat reaksi dengan lingkungannya. Salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi korosi pada logam adalah kondisi lingkungan. Aluminium membentuk Al2O3 dan Seng membentuk ZnO saat terkorosi. Penelitian ini memetakan tingkatan korosi atmosferik di lima wilayah Surabaya yaitu Surabaya Utara, Timur, Selatan, Barat, dan Pusat dengan mengumpulkan data laju korosi. Logam yang digunakan adalah Aluminium A1100 sebagai Aluminium dan Galvanil sebagai Seng. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama 4 bulan. Perhitungan laju korosi dilakukan dengan metode weight loss. Serta dilakukan uji XRD dan SEM-EDX untuk membandingkan hasil korosi kedua logam. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa tingkat korosifitas atmosfer tinggi aluminium berada pada Kecamatan Bulak (1,2261 mpy), Tenggilis Mejoyo (1,1725 mpy), Sukomanunggal (1,1034 mpy), Mulyorejo (0,9337 mpy), Rungkut (0,9153 mpy), dan Krembangan (0,9090 mpy). Tingkat korosifitas sedang pada Kecamatan Pakal (0,8853 mpy), Karang Pilang (0,7718 mpy), Gubeng (0,7694 mpy), Wonokromo (0,7620 mpy), Genteng (0,7580 mpy), Tegalsari (0,7494 mpy), dan Sambikerep (0,7028 mpy). Tingkat korosifitas rendah pada Kecamatan Simokerto (0,6945 mpy), Sawahan (0,6878 mpy), Jambangan (0,6801 mpy), Bubutan (0,6674 mpy), Dukuh Pakis (0,6191 mpy), dan Lakarsantri (0,5752 mpy). Sedangkan Tingkat korosifitas atmosfer tinggi seng berada pada Kecamatan Tenggilis Mejoyo (0,8772 mpy), Rungkut (0,7289 mpy), Mulyorejo (0,6546 mpy), Sawahan (0,6291 mpy), Pakal (0,5624 mpy), dan Bulak (0,5279 mpy). Tingkat korosifitas sedang pada Kecamatan Krembangan (0,5213 mpy), Sukomanunggal (0,5025 mpy), Bubutan (0,5014 mpy), Karang Pilang (0,4596 mpy), Dukuh Pakis (0,4538 mpy), Jambangan (0,4480 mpy), dan Tegalsari (0,4279 mpy). Tingkat korosifitas rendah pada Kecamatan Wonokromo (0,460 mpy), Lakarsantri (0,3992 mpy), Sambikerep (0,3879 mpy), Gubeng (0,3756 mpy), Genteng (0,3748 mpy), dan Simokerto (0,2818 mpy). Laju korosi ini dipengaruhi oleh letak geografisnya serta keberadaan industri pada kecamatan-kecamatan tersebut.

Corrosion is the deterioration of a material due to a reaction with its environment. One of the factors that influence corrosion of metals is environmental conditions. Aluminum forms Al2O3 and Zinc forms ZnO when corroded. This study maps the level of atmospheric corrosion in five areas of Surabaya namely North, East, South, West, and Central Surabaya by collecting corrosion rate data. The metals used were Aluminum A1100 as Aluminum and Galvanil as Zinc. This research was conducted for 4 months. Calculation of corrosion rate was done by weight loss method. XRD and SEM-EDX tests were conducted to compare the corrosion results of the two metals. The results of this study concluded that the high atmospheric corrosivity level of aluminum is in Bulak District (1.2261 mpy), Tenggilis Mejoyo (1.1725 mpy), Sukomanunggal (1.1034 mpy), Mulyorejo (0.9337 mpy), Rungkut (0.9153 mpy), and Krembangan (0.9090 mpy). Medium corrosivity level in Pakal (0.8853 mpy), Karang Pilang (0.7718 mpy), Gubeng (0.7694 mpy), Wonokromo (0.7620 mpy), Genteng (0.7580 mpy), Tegalsari (0.7494 mpy), and Sambikerep (0.7028 mpy) sub-districts. Low corrosivity level in Simokerto sub-district (0.6945 mpy), Sawahan (0.6878 mpy), Jambangan (0.6801 mpy), Bubutan (0.6674 mpy), Dukuh Pakis (0.6191 mpy), and Lakarsantri (0.5752 mpy). While the high atmospheric corrosivity level of zinc is in the sub-districts of Tenggilis Mejoyo (0.8772 mpy), Rungkut (0.7289 mpy), Mulyorejo (0.6546 mpy), Sawahan (0.6291 mpy), Pakal (0.5624 mpy), and Bulak (0.5279 mpy). Medium corrosivity level in Krembangan (0.5213 mpy), Sukomanunggal (0.5025 mpy), Bubutan (0.5014 mpy), Karang Pilang (0.4596 mpy), Dukuh Pakis (0.4538 mpy), Jambangan (0.4480 mpy), and Tegalsari (0.4279 mpy) sub-districts. The corrosivity level is low in Wonokromo (0.460 mpy), Lakarsantri (0.3992 mpy), Sambikerep (0.3879 mpy), Gubeng (0.3756 mpy), Genteng (0.3748 mpy), and Simokerto (0.2818 mpy). This corrosion rate is influenced by its geographical location and the presence of industry in these sub-districts.
