Abstract

PCT-100 is a miniature process control system in the industrial world and is a product from the vendor Bytronic. Software that supports the PCT-100 has the facility to control four control variables including discharge, level, temperature, and pressure. The problem of level control at the PCT-100 plant with variations in load conditions can be solved by using an adaptive control system. In previous research, level control was carried out at the PCT-100 plant by applying the PID self-tuning method, using an adaptive interaction approach. However, in this final project, the design of the PID Reference Model Adaptive Control (MRAC) is carried out for level control which is a scheme of an adaptive control system. Based on the simulation results with the specified PCT-100 parameter, it is obtained for setting the level the adaptive rate parameter values are γ_p=1×10^3, γ_i=1×10, dan γ_d=1×10^2 for testing the tracking set point produces an RMSE value of 0.0685. In testing with a load without noise it produces an RMSE value of 0.0681, then with white noise and random uniform RMSE values of 0.0810 and 0.0823. The results of the PID-MRAC simulation are better than the PID controller because the PID-MRAC controller has the ability to adapt the parameter values K_p, K_i, and K_d so that the more errors, the better the performance of the PID-MRAC compared to other simulations.
