Abstract
Proses Sedimentasi adalah pengendapan butiran sedimen dari kolam air ke dasar perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi permasalahan sedimentasi yang terjadi di Alur dan Kolam Labuh Tanjung Rhu. Sedimentasi dapat menyebabkan pendangkalan di kolam labuh dan menghambat aktivitas pelabuhan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menentukan metode yang efektif dalam mengurangi sedimentasi dan menjaga kedalaman kolam labuh. Penelitian ini melibatkan pemodelan laju sedimentasi pada kondisi eksisting dan pemodelan beberapa skenario model. Skenario model yang dilakukan adalah Pengerukan, Pembangunan Breakwater, Sediment Trap dan gabungan ketiganya. Berdasarkan analisis yang telah dilakukan, skenario model gabungan ditemukan memiliki tingkat sedimentasi terendah, dengan volume sedimentasi selama 10 tahun sebesar 48.270,84 m3 dan laju sedimentasi rata-rata sebesar 5.367,4 m3/tahun. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan pendekatan gabungan yang melibatkan pengerukan, groin, dan sediment trap memberikan hasil yang lebih baik dalam mengendalikan sedimen dan menjaga kelancaran pelayaran. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi praktis bagi pengelola pelabuhan dalam memilih metode yang tepat untuk mengatasi sedimentasi. Dengan menerapkan strategi yang efektif, diharapkan Alur dan Kolam Labuh Tanjung Rhu dapat tetap beroperasi secara optimal dan aman

Sedimentation process is the deposition of sediment particles from the water column to the bottom of the water. This study aims to address the sedimentation issues occurring in the channel and basin of Tanjung Rhu Port. Sedimentation can cause siltation in the basin and hinder port activities. Therefore, this study is conducted to determine effective methods to reduce sedimentation and maintain the depth of the basin. The study involves modeling sedimentation rates under existing conditions and modeling several model scenarios. The model scenarios performed include dredging, breakwater construction, sediment trap, and a combination of all three. Based on the analysis conducted, it was found that the combined model scenario had the lowest sedimentation rate, with a sediment volume of 48,270.84 m3 over 10 years and an average sedimentation rate of 5,367.4 cubic m3/year. These findings indicate that the use of a combined approach involving dredging, groin, and sediment trap yields better results in controlling sediment and ensuring smooth navigation. The results of this study provide practical recommendations for port managers in selecting the appropriate methods to address sedimentation. By implementing effective strategies, it is expected that the channel and basin of Tanjung Rhu Port can continue to operate optimally and safely.
