Abstract

Variasi yang digunakan adalah Tstart sebesar (0 s, 0,06 s, 0,12 s) dan (0 s, 0,03 s, 0,09 s) dan untuk amplitude nya digunakan sebesar (16.000 A, 10.000 A, 10.000 A) dan (20.000 A, 14.000 A, 10.000 A).

In this study, the authors tested the performance of a surge arrester on a 20 kV medium voltage distribution line against three repeated lightning strikes. The tester conducted a test to see the success rate of the surge arrester against the success rate of the surge arrester when three lightning strikes with the time interval between lightning shortened and the lightning amplitude increased. In this study, a model was created and a simulation was carried out on a medium voltage distribution line that was struck by lightning using the ATP-Draw software. In this simulation, the variable Tstart and amplitude of repeated lightning are used to test the performance of the surge arrester. The variations used are Tstart of (0 s, 0.06 s, 0.12 s) and (0 s, 0.03 s, 0.09 s) and for the amplitudes used are (16,000 A, 10,000 A, 10,000 A ) and (20,000 A, 14,000 A, 10,000 A). The result of this simulation is when using a surge arrester, the voltage that goes into the loads of the medium voltage distribution system is smaller than the voltage when not using a surge arrester. The cut off of the mains voltage can be up to 50,000 kV to 80,000 kV from the original incoming voltage without using a surge arrester
