Abstract
Boiler merupakan peralatan yang digunakan untuk memanaskan air dan menghasilkan uap melalui sistem perpindahan panas radiasi dan konveksi energi termal gas-gas hasil pembakaran. Uap yang dihasilkan digunakan dalam proses steam yang melibatkan perpindahan panas antara temperatur steam dan lingkungan. Economizer sebagai alat pemindah panas, berfungsi untuk memanaskan air umpan boiler sebelum masuk ke steam drum. Tujuan dari penggunaan economizer adalah untuk menghemat penggunaan bahan bakar dengan memanfaatkan panas gas buang sebelum dibuang ke atmosfir. Dengan pemasangan economizer, efisiensi boiler dapat ditingkatkan, biaya batubara dapat dikurangi, dan pendapatan bersih perusahaan dapat meningkat. Oleh karena itu, penggunaan economizer pada boiler memiliki manfaat yang signifikan. Berdasarkan percobaan, pemasangan economizer pada boiler meningkatkan efisiensi sebesar 5,13% dari 80,39% menjadi 85,52%. Hal ini disebabkan oleh peningkatan temperatur air masukan setelah melalui economizer yang mengurangi waktu dan bahan bakar yang diperlukan untuk menghasilkan uap. Biaya bahan bakar dan air turun sebesar RP 94,873,164 per bulan serta payback period selama 6 bulan. Secara keseluruhan, pemasangan economizer pada boiler sangat menguntungkan dengan peningkatan efisiensi, penghematan energi dan penghematan biaya bahan bakar.

A boiler is an equipment used to heat water and generate steam through the transfer of heat by radiation and convective thermal energy from combustion gases. The steam produced is used in steam processes that involve heat transfer between the steam temperature and the environment. An economizer, as a heat transfer device, functions to preheat the boiler feedwater before entering the steam drum. The purpose of using an economizer is to save fuel usage by utilizing waste heat from the flue gases before they are discharged into the atmosphere. By installing an economizer, boiler efficiency can be improved, coal costs can be reduced, and the company’s net income can increase. Therefore, the use of an economizer in boilers has significant benefits. Based on experiments, the installation of an economizer in a boiler increased efficiency by 5.13% from 80.39% to 85.52%. This is due to the increase in the inlet water temperature after passing through the economizer, which reduces the time and fuel required to generate steam. Fuel and water costs decreased by RP 94,873,164 per month, with a payback period of 6 months. Overall, the installation of an economizer in a boiler is highly beneficial, providing increased efficiency, energy savings, and fuel cost savings.
