Abstract
PT. Kaltim Daya Mandiri merupakan perusahaan penyedia utilitas dan energi yang didirikan dengan tujuan memenuhi suplai kebutuhan utilitas pada fasilitas produksi dan perumahan PT. Pupuk Kaltim serta perusahan-perusahaan lain yang berada di lingkungan. Saat ini PT. Kaltim Daya Mandiri memproduksi listrik sebanyak 151 juta kWh/tahun dan memfasilitasi jasa integrasi listrik sebesar 241 juta kWh/tahun. Salah satu gangguan kelistrikan yang mungkin dapat terjadi adalah insiden busur api atau arc flash. Busur api merupakan pelepasan energi panas dan cahaya yang merambat melalui udara dan mengalir antara konduktor beraliran listrik, antara konduktor dengan netral, atau antara konduktor beraliran listrik ke tanah. Busur api dapat terjadi karena adanya arcing fault atau arus listrik yang mengalir pada saluran yang tidak seharusnya ada arus yang mengalir. Busur api dapat mengakibatkan panas yang menyengat, cahaya yang menyilaukan, suara bising, hingga timbulnya ledakan. Hal tersebut sangat berbahaya bagi para pekerja dan peralatan listrik. National Force Protection Association (NFPA) 70E merupakan standar peralatan yang diperlukan untuk melindungi diri dari bahaya busur api, kategorinya ditentukan dari perhitungan besar energi insiden yang dihitung menggunakan standar IEEE 1584-2002. Metode Zone Selective Interlocking merupakan metode yang efektif menghilangkan gangguan dengan cepat sehingga dapat mengurangi besarnya nilai energi insiden. Penerapan metode ini pada PT. Kaltim Daya Mandiri diharapkan dapat mengurangi energi insiden sehingga bahaya yang ditimbulkan dari busur api berkurang dan dapat diminimalisir menjadi kategori yang lebih rendah sehingga kedepannya dapat dijadikan bahan pertimbangan bagi PT. Kaltim Daya Mandiri.

PT. Kaltim Daya Mandiri is a utility and energy provider company that was established with the aim of fulfilling the provision of utility needs at the production and housing facilities of PT. Pupuk Kaltim and other companies in the environment. Currently PT. Kaltim Daya Mandiri produces electricity of 151 million kWh/year and facilitates electricity integration services of 241 million kWh/year. One of the electrical disturbances that may occur is an arc flash. Arc flash is a discharge of heat and light energy that propagates through the air and flows between live conductors, between the conductors and the neutral, or between the live conductors and earth. Arc flash can occur due to arcing faults or electric current flowing in conduits where current is not supposed to flow. Arc flash can cause intense heat, blinding light, loud noises, and explosions. It is very dangerous for workers and electrical equipment. National Force Protection Association (NFPA) 70E is a standard for equipment needed to protect oneself from the dangers of an electric arc, the category is determined from the calculation of the magnitude of the energy incident which is calculated using the IEEE 1584-2002 standard. Zone Selective Interlocking Method is an effective method for quickly eliminating disturbances so as to reduce the energy incident value. The application of this method at PT. Kaltim Daya Mandiri is expected to be able to reduce incident energy so that the danger posed by the arc is reduced and can be minimized to a lower category so that in the future it can be used as material for consideration for PT. Kaltim Daya Mandiri.
